While I agree that Shaqiri is not performing to the level I would expect, I don't pay any attention to Denis Smith. A great player in his time, and also a decent manager in his time- unfortunately his time was 25 years ago. His future would be aWhelan, Walters, Crouch- and we need to move on. I wish we had a Smithy and a Bluto at the back right now. Don't you ? In today's game we would be playing 8 v 11 every week-totally wrong I know but Pejic Bloor and Smith wouldn't be allowed to tackle!

Any news of us getting rid of him this month.
That has to be at the top of the transfer team's priorities.

If someone offered us the £12m we paid for him then I'd accept it. We might even get a bit more if the buying club remember that goal he scored at Euro 16.
He's got the ability to win games, but he's a 1 in 10 player who seems to think he's better than he really is.
