It'll be interesting to see what route we go down without Arni. I can see perhaps MH going back to 343.
I think it'll be back to 343. I'd go with this. Rest Walters, Adam and Whelan who I think could be a little flat after tonights efforts
..............Grant..............
....Ryan......Muni.......Indi....
Johnson...................Pieters
........Imbula.....Allen.........
Shaq..........Diouf.........Sobhi

We need 3 pts, with 2 very difficult away games coming, if we want to keep within touching distance of 7th.

We are going to need to be more on our game than we were at the start of last nights match.. We are also going to have to work out what we are trying to do up front - the idea of plonking Diouf up there again really doesn't appeal especially after he has found a role he makes a genuine contribution in.

Given the creaking lumbering pair that is their central defence, surely we MUST have some pace up front to exploit that ?

We should know by now Huths weaknesses, so it's just a matter of putting the right player up against him. Crouch won't get much change out of him so perhaps Diouf to harass and harry him ???

Leicester rely on attacking teams to counter on the break.
We don't really attack fast so we should be alright.
We should have beat them last year

After last night we gotta go back to 3-4-3 surely. It makes us so much more dynamic than having a flat back 4

I wouldn't be surprised if Pieters isn't out. He was clearly struggling with a thigh/groin injury last night.

Also Ngoy needs to be on the bench

I am looking for some better imagination and a big helping of courage from Hughes. Certainly we have a massive problem that as an attacking force we are devoid of pace. Morgan and Huth will be rubbing their hands at the thought of playing against Walters or Crouch. Bony is a goal scorer but his pace is only over five metres around the six yard box. Diouf deserves a starting possession but for me is not the answer. Arnie might have been the answer but is now suspended. Pace is essential in the modern game and I think it is time to take a chance on youth. NGoy was given his debut last week and why not give him a start. His pace is electric! If it initially fails Hughes has the bench to resort back to. Arnie is out so let's see Sobhi playing. What has he done wrong so far? I would have no fear of seeing the following start on Saturday:- Grant Johnson Shawcross Indi Pieters Whelan Adam Shaqiri. Allen Sobhi NGoy
Bench:- Given, Muniesa, Diouf, Imbula, Bojan, Bony and Crouch
Other teams throw in young players and take a chance! If it doesn't come off we are one week nearer to the transfer window when players such as Walters, Crouch, Adam and Whelan, who are in the latter stages of their careers can be improved upon.

GRANT JOHNSON INDI MUNIESA SOHBI ALLEN WHELAN IMBULA PIETERS SHAQIRI BONY
Basically Bony is the only real forward we have the others are either too old or too inexperienced or not good enough , Arnie is suspended but even so he's not a forward he's better coming on to the ball not with his back to play. However I feel that despite the articles last week from Hughes saying Bony still has a role to play his future is else where, if not it seems wasteful to have an expensive loanee never even getting off the bench so I think it will be Walters , who ,whilst love or hate him he has been a brilliant servant to the club , hes just not good enough or quick enough anymore . Diouff tries very hard but has no quality. So tricky to see a way forward with the current squad .

We need to ensure Vardy does not get space behind our defence into which he can run. The back three is the best option for that. We need youth and/or pace to run at their less than swift defence as well, and a striker who may actually look like scoring.
I'd go:
..............Grant..............
....Ryan......Indi.....Pieters....
Johnson........................Muni
........Imbula.....Allen.........
Shaq..........Bony.........Sobhi

I'd definitely play Bony to give Huthy something to worry about facing corners and free kicks.

If ever there is the opportunity to shuffle the pack, it's over the Christmas period with Arnie suspended.
Rob Huth would be delighted to mark Super Jon. It would be a Battle Royal, but Bojan dancing on ice like Jack Frost between him and Morgan would be their Nightmare Before Christmas.
Leicester will defend deep, so Diouf's pace through the middle might be nullified. I just don't think MH fancies him there any more anyway.
I would like to see a 4-2-3-1. This gives plenty of cover against Vardy's pace, puts Glen Johnson up against their most creative threat, Mahrez, and allows the option of Muni at leftback if Eric isn't fit. Glenn screens the back 4 with Gianelli, who goes box to box to support Joe and Bojan.
Grant
Johnson Shawcross Martins Indi Muniesa
Whelan Imbula
Shaqiri Allen Shobi
Bojan
Bit of pace, potentially lots of creativity and movement with plenty of support from midfield. Let's move Huth and Morgan all over the park for 90 minutes.
Plenty of options on the bench. Changes would be Charlie for Imbula if we are too open, with Bony or N'Goy to come on for Bojan if the ball doesn't stick up front. Alternatively, Allen could drop deeper to replace Glenn or Imbula, and Bojan could drop back into a 10 role behind Wilf.
All I want for Christmas is to see Bojan Krkic playing football like we know he can: happy and smiling, brilliant touch and movement with a couple of goals. What have we got to lose? we're short of goals anyway at the moment. The lad is a super talented goal scorer - lets give him a chance up front against these two old fashioned centre halves.
Come on Stoke - let's have a Happy Christmas - starting Satdee!

I'd love to see Bojan and the way he was when he joined he could play like a Griesman even in a two up front with Bony , however I think he's just lost it and one crunching challenge from behind from Mr Huth I feel he would move away from the contact into areas where he didn't contribute.

Evening all, ahead of the match I thought I'd give you some insight into Leicester, as well as share my thoughts on yourselves.
You are a good side with some very talented players. You've made some steady progress in the campaign so far, and Hughes continues to do a very good job. Like Southampton, you're a model Premier League club I suppose you could say?
I believe Schmeichel, Drinkwater, James and Mendy are all back and available for this one so I think there will be some rotation in our lineup. We played midweek too but we played Tuesday as opposed to Wednesday. What I will mention is that (up until now at least) we tend to struggle away from home, and to be frank it's lucky that we've got good enough home form or else we could've been in real trouble. We need to start getting points, because we contiune to hover in and around the relegation area. What you saw against Manchester City was the Leicester of 2015/16, but that sort of display/game isn't being replicated due to the way teams are setting up against us. Of course, it's not just down to the opposition, we need to find another way of winning games, whether that be a change of formation or a change of tactics.
Many of our fans have been saying we need to change our traditional 4-4-2 formation, because in some games we become isolated particularly the attacking players. You see, Okazaki is fundamental in our system and he provides that link from the midfield to attack. He links our play up really well, and it seems when he's not in the side our 4-4-2 does not function quite the same. His impact, in my view is why in some games our strikers and wingers aren't getting the same service or effect on the game.

Bojan or even Ngoy for me. Only problem is that we don't have an outlet if we get pressed at the back - but if we can get Diouf on the field somewhere, that problem is sorted. Maybe a hybrid of the false nine bollocks and the new 343 bollocks? Grant Johnson Indi Shawcross/Muniesa Diouf Imbula Allen Pieters/Muniesa Shaqiri Bojan Ramadan Difficult one though as it'd be nice if we could get Charlie or Glenn in there somewhere.
