Jon offside Walters did little in the 2nd half yet Bojan gets taken off and Adam brought on. We needed a 3rd goal, Ramadan should have been brought on with fresh legs Bojan had a very good game but was tiring imo and needed to be subbed after 60 mins We needed to maintain some attacking options and as mentioned on another post, we needed to react when they made their subs Sobhi, Shaqiri (if he stays on his feet ) always likely to draw fouls from their defenders Not sure that Adam was the answer but if he'd scored a screamer we would all be praising the decision. I agree that MH has a habit of delaying his substitutions, giving freah players little time to make an impact!

I am as pissed off as the next person but if you think we let that slip because Hughes didn't bring his subs on early enough then you are clueless. We were in complete control at 2-0. They were creating nothing we had the odd chance, we were putting the odd quality cross in behind their defenders. Why do you think he needs to change anything under those circumstances? No one was blowing out their arse. Once they scored there may be an argument for him to make a change then. Changing Adam out for Bojan was not necessarily a bad decision. We lost that game because we failed to deal with crosses into the box. All the knicker wetting on here does my head in. Suck it up and move on. No mate, sorry but Hughes fucked up big time. I've just finished watching the whole match on t'interworld (after missing it live) and we were starting to sit deeper before Ranieri made his subs. He needed to do something to change the shape and momentum of the game, but didn't. Ranieri got his team's discipline back and got their heads together - Hughes just seemed to transmit his agitation onto the pitch. After conceding the first goal we needed some leadership from MH, but got none. My view, after just watching the game sober, is that we were presented with 3 points largely due to a dodgy refereeing decision, and MH lost 2 of them with his indecisiveness. I speak as a fan of MH, but that's how I see it.

We were awful after 60 mins for sure and after they scored for sure you could see where it was heading but I thought first half we were excellent even when they had 10 men. Movement was great and proved and passed with a purpose. Massively disappointing obviously but we are Stoke and it is what we do..the only argument I have is like he said if we flagged then get fresh legs on earlier!!!

Another crap home game - surprise surprise!!
Our home form and performances this year have been dire. We've only won 3 home games this season and we look no closer to knowing what our best side, formation, tactics and recruitment policy is. It's a complete lucky dip and if I was Coates I wouldn't give Hughes any money to spend in January because he'll probably buy another floaty attacking midfielder and waste it - the football I'm watching is toss. Sideways back sideways back sideways lose the ball - rinse and repeat

We really missed arnie today, no pace in the side whatsoever. We were fucking useless in the 2nd half. We parked the bus against a side with 10 men and fuck knows how many yellow cards, should have brought crouch and shaq on and kept attacking to keep them under pressure but no we some how fucked it

Same result against them last season, we were 2-0 at half time and the same story?
They kept coming back to draw then however.

I just watched the replay and some thoughts:
1) Allen is really starting to get on my nerves. I don't disagree that he has had some good moments for us this season but his presence seems to have a negative effect on the rest of our midfield, especially its shape in defense. Having Imbula play as well doesn't help. I think we can only play with one of them.
2) Walters stayed on way too long.
3) BMI is our player of the season so far.
4) Arnie was missed.
5) And most of all, just angry that we let that lead slip.

Allen wasn't a midfielder yesterday, he and Bojan were given free roles behind Jon, the point in the 3 at the back is to have an extra man in defence there to cover for those two. I also thought Imbula was excellent, our driving force from midfield. Agree about Walters and Arnie, the big point for me is one poor piece of defending on the counter (Johnson leaving his man at the back post) changed the game completely. We'd spent 40 minutes in second gear keeping the ball in front of their box, then the goal catalysed them, we just couldn't shift back up the gears quickly enough.
