Stoke should appeal the red card I've no idea what form these appeals take but if historic video evidence is allowed then we surely just need to show a certain few seconds of footage from the away game v the Shit and jobs a goodun, nobody could refute it.

Herrera's challenge was a lot worse than Arnie's yesterday. Agreed mate but not according to officials 🤔 Which is the point i was clumsily trying to get accross !

Out until the 3rd of Jan. Christmas and New Year off. Coincidence? IMO he needs a month unpaid It would be nice if all premiership footballers donateted December's wages to charity. However, Arnie has been our best and most effective player for a few years now and I dont think we should be having a pop at him for his unfortunate red card, If anything I would think somebody with his ambitions is probably gutted he is out of the shop window, with January approaching

It looks bad but in his defence I think it's only the 3rd red card of his career. Pretty good for a 'Hot Head'.

A deliberate red to have Christmas off, I think I've heard it all now.
And even supposing he wanted to do that, surely he'd wait till the last 10-15 mins.
By the way Elvis is alive and well and living in Stoke!!

In today's game it was a red, studs were high and it was dangerous. Hopefully now Ramadan will get a run of games

Its a red can we all just accept it? If we appeal for that then god help us. Its not the filthiest red card you will ever see, but studs up against someones knee and a mile away from the ball = ITS A RED If the Manchester United player had been sent off for the exact same challenge then i would accept Cheeky

Something needs to be done to address the inconsistency and unfairness.
Compare the red Arnie got to the complete lack of sanction that Ashley twat got for a vicious elbow on Bruno.
The double standards and inconsistency is ruining the game

The double standards and inconsistency is ruining the game I only saw the 'vicious' elbow challenge once and it looked like nothing to me. I genuinely thought that Indi was milking it to try and get some action taken against Long. Long's gesture said it all to me. After Indi got back on his fèet, Long helds his hands in prayer mockingly looking up to "Heaven" as if to say "thank you Lord, big Indi is ok for I thought I had killed him with my gentle nudge" On the evidence that I saw I was firmly on the side of Long.

The Burnley elbow was worse than the Southampton one but I didn't think it was sufficiently clear to warrant a red card. I have a very high tolerance for violent conduct on a football field. All the games I watch are automatically filtered in my mind through the 1970's rules of Association Football. I try to ignore any interpretation of the modern rules as I think they are toss and don't apply to the football that I watch. Consequently,I hold the footballers of the modern game to much lower standards and do not expect them to receive protection if on the wrong end of a moderately wayward challenge.

Inconsistency aside some people need to take off their red and white blinkers it was a red card all day long and not one person on this forum would debate it had it been a Southampton player.
3 game ban for 2 games that are extremely difficult and unlikely to get anything from anyway, I'd be much more worried if he missed weaker teams than those we are unlikely to get anything from anyway, Leicester aside of course.

Would a fourth game just extend to the FA cup? If so then worth the risk in order to highlight further the baffling inconsistencies in refereeing

Agreed mate but not according to officials 🤔 Which is the point i was clumsily trying to get accross ! Looking at that tackle, which was far worse than Arnies, then teams should be allowed to appeal against opposing players not being Red or Yellow Carded, at the very least there should be a fifth official watching replays of such incidents. Fabregas and his sneaky slap to the face at Man City the other week springs to mind. For whatever reason that slap was deemed not worthy of punishment

Tnx for posting had to laugh when he mentioned AF's motivational tactic of telling his players that he was putting the players names that he thought would let him down in a envelope for review at the end of the season. MH will need a shipping crate rather than an envelope for Bony
