That was a big blow for Anderson then. If he'd of gone 3-1 up I think he would of gone on to win. Hopefully he can keep this standard up but ive got a feeling his level will drop slightly and MVG will just continue on this level as he always does.

Nobody can live with Van Gerwen when he's on his game.

You can't argue with the standard.
More 180s in that match than the whole of next weeks lakeside

Great final dart to win it.
What a game though, the scoring was superb.

In terms of scoring this year's tournament has being different class. I went to the final in 2011 Lewis beat Anderson hit a 9 darter still one of the biggest sporting mental I've ever had 😂

Some of the finals of the last few years have been class. It's worth it just to see a Ted Hankey meltdown and another Daryl Fitton 1st round exit

I'll be honest I haven't got a clue.

Glenn Durrant can put up a 100 average on a good day, Jamie Hughes from what ive seen of him looks decent aswell.

There are a fair few spineless dart throwers in the BDO who dare call themselves a world champion. It is good for giving younger players experience and a good steppinng stone to becoming a top player. The improvements players make when switching to the PDC is ridiculous and the standard is becoming extremely high.

The BDO crowd are a proper darts crowd though, and not the nu-darts hipsters that suddenly think the game is cool, whilst downing 100 pots of Carling and dancing to the Yaya and Kolo song. Call me boring for a minute...

On tommorow on channel 4 from 12ish then bt later on. Firm favourite in most peoples eyes is Durrant but imo its wide open. Got a feeling Jamie Hughes might do it this time. Dont count out the Canadian Geoff who looks as tho hes just stumbled out of an architechts Christmas party onto the stage. Thud thud thud....45 "Wolfys making his move!"

been ok standard so far Durrant should swap over he'd be top 16 in PDC He said a couple of years ago he was going to have one more go at winning the worlds and then swap to the PDC so I expect he will at some stage. In the pre match interview yesterday he said he was part of a team that manages 10,000 properties so god knows how he'd find the time to do that and the PDC aswell, theirs 10 times the amount of events on the PDC tour.

In Glen's emotional post victory interview he said his ambition was always to switch to the PDC but he was now having second thoughts because he appreciated the camaraderie, support and culture of the BDO.
I'm pleased he finally won the title, thoroughly deserved, but I think he will probably switch this year. If he does I'd be surprised if he gets very far, the standard is in another stratosphere.
For now, congrats to the lad from Middlesbrough.
