In reality, both of these will struggle against either Van Gerwen or Anderson.

A bit of an anti climax this is.
Barney has been dreadful bar a few good finishes.

In years gone by, as soon as Barney started shaking his head, Taylor would go through the gears and blitz him. He hasn't got it any more. He's missing way too many doubles these days.

It's like when there is a big footballl game on tv. Hyped to death but shit on the pitch.
Too much hype too much expectation
Either one will give MVG a game

So, Anderson v Wroght
Barney v van Gerwen
I'll plump for a Wright v van Gerwen final
Got a sneaking feeling Wright will turn Anderson over

Wright vs Anderson will be intriguing. Anderson works better with the faster players and Wright can beat anyone on his day. I think Anderson will edge it.
As for Taylor - he just never seemed to get in the groove. Every time it looked like he was he'd then throw a 45 or 59, whereas in years gone by he'd have a big treble in pretty much every three darts.

Im a massive darts fan and im gutted to see Taylor go out, reguardless of what you THINK of Phil Taylor as a person (lets be honest nobody on here knows him personally so its hard to judge). I wish he had one more World championship in him then retire but he doesnt have the answers nowadays and rarely has infact since he swapped his darts from Unicorn to Target. I wont even watch the semis now and will probably only watch the final if its Anderson and Gerwen. Gerwen is the best darts player their has ever been imo (even tho I cant stand his antics on the oche) but time will tell if he can keep this standard up like Taylor did. Not a chance he will get anywhere near the amount of World titles Taylor has because of the amount of talent and money in the game these days. Anyway I hope Anderson does it now he seems a nice bloke and when on song can beat anyone.

Found it interesting to here on commentary today aswell when Chisnall was banging all his 180s in that Ted Hankey still has the record for most 180s in a match

I must admit I rarely watch it these days, but was a huge Taylor fan in his heyday.

But the reason the standard is so high now is they all had to improve drastically to compete with him.

In the early days of the PDC taylor and priestly split expenses and prize money. They could afford to give up work and go full time pro. Taylor was good. Better than the rest but being able to practise for hours a day meant the gap didn't close There is so much money on offer nowadays most of the top guys are not on building sites part time. They are at home practising.

To be fair the money in the game has been very good for probably the last 10 years and theirs still only Van Gerwen who is on another level to Taylor and another 4 or 5 players who are at the same level.

Wright seems to have beaten himself here, had the chances...
Anderson done the business when needed and fancy him for the hat trick if he wins this

Barney being blitzed with a 109 average! Unbelievable stuff.

Staggering stuff really, one of the interesting stats mentioned during the Anderson v Chisnall match was that John Part won one of his world finals with an average of 82! Wouldn't get you beyond the first round now.

They didn't say which final, trotted the stat out, then started coming out with the platitudes when they realised it may appear they were talking down a fellow commentator's achievements.
