MoM by a country mile. He destroyed Burnley's highly rated defence with his power, intelligence and aggression. You have just seen the best display of a lone striker by a Stoke player for years and years. And as for his goal. If Pele had scored it, the world would have stood still to applaud - one of the best goals ever at the Brit (Bet). A must to start every single game remaining this season. Do I detect the teensiest hint of sarcasm in your post?

I'm not even convinced he intended it as an attempt on goal if I'm honest. He's looked better than usual last couple of games for me, still only average overall tho' imo. He did mate, it was a lovely instinctive flick. Ā Other than that he couldn't trap a bag of cement. Why would he want to? Surely he'd break his foot.

Let's be absolutely clear it wasn't just a superbly taken goal today it was a marvellous all round performance - go into denial all you want to guys but fair minded football people will give him stacks of credit and amongst that group will be one Mr Mark Hughes who will continue to pick him on a regular basis.

There's only one man who knows the value of SJW and that is MH.I would like to bet he's in the side next week in front of Shaqiri.

The goal was as good as Bojan's against West Ham. That's a compliment to both players. But SJW works harder than Bojan, especially when the hand that's been dealt isn't so great.

Nope Pugs - he pulled them all over the place, didn't give them a moments rest, made great runs into space and generally lead from the front. The bloke gave your team 90 minutes of skill and graft , a cause for some celebration I would suggest not the rather forced contempt that some are trying to carry off here.

What really counts against SJW is his total lack of pace. He did play well today, but are you unable to see that he was twice put through (once by Shaqiri, once by Imbula) but just could not get away. He has his uses but he should be used sparingly.

Don't want to take it away from him, but I agree, I'm not convinced he meant that finish. Doesn't matter if he didn't. Accidental goals still count. Though I think he intended it. Didn't we have this recently with one of Shaq's goals?
