Unforgivable to miss a penalty if you don't hit the target (its another thing if the keeper saves it), but just not acceptable to not hit the target

The title of this thread is harsh to say the very least. I agree at the moment there are better players in the team that fit his role but completely wank no not all. How many people were complaining after his equaliser against West Ham? Today like many others he was poor simple as that.

Even with Allen out next week Bojan should be dropped. Shaq in the number 10 position with Sobhi back on the wing would be my call, with Whelan or/and Cameron both back hopefully. Shaq played a couple of nice through balls late in the game from a central position and he offers more energy than Bojan. Not ideal but the better option.

Would anybody guess he was trying to win a place in the team? Jesus Christ, he was absolutely abysmal. Penalty miss aside (which was amateurish) he had absolutely no impact on the game whatsoever. He should've been dragged off much earlier. Points thrown away. Tough job when you're playing behind an idle fucker just passing time dreaming of his next payday. You've really had it with Bony huh mate? I want to give him a chance but he is making it very hard!

Bojan had comfortably his worst game in a stoke shirt today.
But Shaq and Arnie weren't much better. Charlie Adam was even worse. That's not me excusing him, but it's difficult for any of these players to play well when the whole team isn't performing. Anybody can miss a penalty. Genuinely world class players miss penalties all the time (see Messi, Aguero, Baggio and etc etc.), so think it's a bit harsh to call him a disgrace for that.
On the basis of current form, he's very lucky that Allen is out next week so he has another opportunity to fight for his place (assuming he isn't dropped for Imbula). But I still think he has a lot to offer to the club, this idea that he's of no value to us or is outclassed by other players at the club is a bit daft. I think his goalscoring record here speaks for itself, particularly considering the fact he doesn't even play as the striker most of the time.

What a situation now, two seasons ago you held your head when he couldn't play , now we look better when JW replaces him. Very sad. Only the certifiable would want SJW replacing Bojan. Anyone care to comment on the Walters header from 6 yards that just about rolled into the keepers arms?

Aye. These are the sort of games Bony really needs to stamp his authority on, regardless wof whether those around you are having a mare.

I think completely wank is a bit strong and nobody was more disappointed than him with the penalty miss.
But I would say that I just don't get it.
I don't get how he fits into a team or where he can play. He is too light to be a striker and midfield doesn't suit him either.
I think he would do well at a smaller Spanish club or somewhere like Porto.
He is a talent but I just don't see it ever really clicking for him here now.

Had I have been Hughes at half time I'd have been tempted to drag 4 off and put 3 on and play with a man short. Bony, Bojan, Shaqiri and Adam barely moved in the first half.

I've long been of the opinion that his run of good form pre injury was a blip and that the shit before and after it is the norm.
He was absolutely pathetic today and that is ignoring the fact that he missed a penalty he should never have taken in the first place

Today was an experiment to see if Allen can go back to a defensive sort of role and bojan number 10. It didn't work unfortunately and let's be honest we signed Allen to play the defensive role. He's somehow managed to grab the number 10 role with both hands.. on paper the midfield looked good and what we all wanted at the start of the season. Funny how things turn out eh

I don't honestly know where we go with him to be honest.

Bojan is quality even the world class players have a bad game , it's football it happens He's had too many of late. He's started 4 games all season and come on as sub in the last 15 - 20 minutes in 4 games, hardly too many is it? Oh and he's scored 3 goals in these fleeting appearances. He was pretty poor today but so was everyone else,

What followed lived down to expectations fully - including Bojan giving it a good go but making zero positive impact on the game.

thread title makes me cringe. can't remember many being this vitriolic before?
nothing like a knee jerk over reaction from stoke fans is there?
i swear some people only get hard ons for when our best players fail and they can have moan
i do find it hard for professional footballers to miss penalties, and i don't think he had a good game, neither did anyone else.
the whole team were lethargic, sloppy, visionless and basically uninterested.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing.. I reckon about 80% of stoke fans wanted to find a way to get bojan in the team and that means dropping Allen to his natural position which doesn't sound like a bad thing. It's not like we were moving him out of position to accommodate bojan

It's not like we were moving him out of position to accommodate bojan 100% not me and I've been saying it for weeks. 1) Bony needs energy around him (Allen) to help us win the ball back further up the pitch. Bojan doesn't do anything in that regard. 2) That player, Allen, has been in excellent form and in what world do you move your most in form player to accommodate others? You just don't. How much longer does Imbula have to spend on the naughty step? If Bojan "deserves an opportunity" then so does Imbula. At least by playing Imbula today we would've been able to keep Allen in his new best position for the team.
