You keep hammering one of our most influential players in the modern era if that what makes you happy. A key player in our promotion. Then written off as not good enough for the Prem. Despite what the experts say he becomes a key part in establishing us as a top flight team. Only to be written off again as not good enough for the "new" footballing Stoke. But guess what? Mark Hughes makes him a virtual ever present and the fulcrum of our midfield. And according to you he's Championship standard. I couldn't hold a candle to you in the field of Bollocksology. At least you can see the recurring theme and accept its not just me. Plenty of people think he's plain not good enough and maybe never has been. Whatever talent and belief he might have had as a footballer was suffocated and buried by Pulis as he did with all players in central midfield. What you've ended up with is a chess piece who reacts to the ball like its a hand grenade with the pin out. Ahhhhhhhh......Pulis! Now I see. You wouldn't let it lie......

I'd probably think your opinions were mental too buy hey you're free to hold them so why not either present a reasoned argument or just agree to disagree. My reasoned argument is that Whelan has a top flight domestic and international record that totally blows your argument out of the water. In other words, he IS a top flight player. Not the best in his position but comfortably capable of playing that role in a mid table PL side and a mid ranking national team. About 250 Premiership games and 78 Caps for his Country at different levels earned under a number of different managers seems to support your point of view.

Fuck me! Any chance of an update on Shaq and Whelan? I'd imagine Whelan's probably off with stress by now.
