Charlie was awful. Simply dreadful. But approximately 50 times better than that useless fucker who's come on a 12 month holiday from Man City.

I think today is unfair keep finger pointing at individuals. Today they were all poor. Possibly the only exception being pieters

Possibly the only exception being pieters I agree with that sentiment mate and usually after a bad game that's my philosophy. Today however i'm not holding back because in that match Charlie Adam played like an overweight 50 year old who has been given a chance to have a 1 game loan from Billys Kebab Shop FC to a Premier League club. It was embarassing to watch him, we were poor all over the pitch but he just took the cake and the rest of Greggs.

I nearly kicked the back of my chair in when he went off and threw a coat in disgust. What did he expect? For me he's massively overrated, bone idle and offers nothing. Diouf may be limited but always gives 100%

Have to agree with that. Immobile missed whelan and Cameron.
Bony shocking to, and our finishing, pitiful

A clear example of why you can't play Charlie in a '2'.
It's been said a million times but it's as true as it ever was.
When he's got two other guys (two from Whelan, Cameron and Allen) to do the water carrying and he plays in a '3' then he can get on with what he's good at but as soon as that three is reduced to a two (as it was today) then Charlie is going to struggle.
Hughes is hugely at fault here though ... the squad is massively unbalanced, why isn't there an bona fide defensive midfielder available to us when Glenn is out but we have a £18 million pounds worth of box to box midfielder sitting on the bench?
You always have to have a defensive midfielder on the pitch, even at home to the 'likes' ( ) of Bournemouth.

There's a lot about Charlie that I like but today when he was asked to step up and play a big role in a threadbare midfield he failed dreadfully. He had an absolute shocker.

Wow! That was his worst performance in a Stoke shirt. No doubt about it. He looked like a random 40 year old from a Sunday league team and that's not being harsh.

Not a lot went right for him today. Slow on the ball, didn't move it quick enough at times. One of those days where he had a shocker all round.

Paul why can't the management team see this?

Lord knows mate.
You can only hope that the penny is starting to drop and the situation will be addressed in January.

None of them are suited to the system Hughes plays. We need a Peter Odemwingie type player.

Great impact sub but not a starter for me.

It looked as though Bournemouth targeted him today closing him down fast to stop him getting his passing going and his day fell apart from there , he simply cannot cope with quick players who deny him time on the ball

Everything bad about Charlie's game was on display in all its glory today.

Charlie had a mare but, as pointed out elsewhere, Bony was even worse and ditto Bojan. However when we bring on Crouch and Walters to replace them, then you just cringe. Diouf not even on the bench? Work to do up front come January, Mr Hughes.

Work to do up front come January, Mr Hughes. It says everything about how wank Bony and Bojan were that Crouch and Walters actually improved things and we had several clear cut chances when they came on. PS Charlie Adam should have been hooked after about 20 minutes.

Not mentioning everything else but one moment of real quality - the ball for Walters header. That should've got us a draw.

In my opinion Charlie has been our best player in the last two games, but today he was really shite and gave away the ball in dangerous position several times! Maybe he missed Whelan alongside him?
