Forgot about Adam. Outside chance of Johnson on the bench but not sure who he'd be instead of. Probably give him another week.

Given Johnson Ryan Bruno Eric Imbula Allen Sobhi Bojan Arni Bony This. The new recruits have had time to prepare and seeing Sobhi AND Arnie on the wings would be great. Have faith in the new talent. But remember.... You'll win nowt with kids

I'd love to see stoke play: Given
Bardsley - Shawcross - Cameron - Muniesa
Whelan
Ramadan - Allen - Bojan - Arnautovic
Bony
But I think stoke will play: Given
Bardsley - Shawcross - Cameron - Pieters
Allen - Whelan
Walters - Bojan - Arnautovic
Bony
Either way not bad teams! Would just like to see Ramadan start

It's pretty disturbing when our record signing is being deemed surplus to requirements.

Another tough game. What a start to the season..
He's got a decision to make with regard to Imbula and Bojan.
I think Bojan might be used from the bench in the second half when the game is a little more open.
Ultimately at home, I'm sure we'll see Allen and Imbula in the midfield 2, but not for this game. I think he'll have Glenn screening the back 4 with Walters and Arnie out wide and Bony up top in a 4-1-4-1 again. I would be surprised if Bruno started.
Hard fought low scoring draw would be my guess, but with this current Stoke City, any result is possible.

It's pretty disturbing when our record signing is being deemed surplus to requirements. It is. Next few matches will be big for the lad. If he can show us (again) why he was worth £18.3m (plus a touch of defensive awareness) everything will be rosy again, even if we still have the selection headache of him vs. Bo. I'd take the 4-1-4-1 team every day of the week! Good balanced squad. The 4-2-3-1 isn't bad, but I think Les will include Imbula at the expense of someone else - probably Bo.

Bottom line is we need to grind something out of the game tomorrow by whatever means necessary. Big test for the team and Hughes - sod clever formations, sod pretty passes just make sure we at least end the day with what we started I.e. a clean sheet and a point.

Due to injuries, the team pretty much picks itself and this is only week 4. Very disappointing. And once again we start the season without a legitimate right winger and have to make do with Walters or Diouf. He should try Sohbi and Arni on the wingers and switch them to vary things up, but he won't. I like this:
Given Bardsley Shawcross Indi Muniesa Allen Whelan Sohbi Bojan Arni Bony
I expect we'll get this
Given Shawcross Indi Pieters Allen Whelan Diouf Imbula Arni Bony
When it's not working, he'll bring on Bojan (instead of Adam), Walters (instead of Sohbi), unless someone gets injured.
As you can tell I am not very confident of this one.

I don't feel confident but Spurs have not been in the form they were when they beat us 4-0 yet but they have a great squad and a lot more strength and power than us in midfield .
I just hope that our lads play with the attitude that they have a score to settle after the last game . If they end up better than us but we have given everything , cant have any complaints
In terms of selection if Bony is to work we need to get support to him so really hope him and Bojan can hit it off from the start so no Imbula for me in the starting 11

I fear a defeat just cant see a clean sheet for starters deli Ali back fresh dembele back ,Kane made our defence look mugs last time ,powerful in midfield, and we have too many important players out or not in form .....i would take a point now gladly

They were flying then, and they certainly aren't now. Looks like this is Dembele's final game of his ban, and that Dier-Wanyama pairing doesn't seem as scary. Davies for Rose is a big, big downgrade in an area they really hurt us last year - and Kane maybe looks a bit low on confidence I've seen 2 of their games and they look nothing like they did at their peak last season I'd probably still take a draw now though!

Exactly my thoughts! The big question mark for me (and probably all of the Spurs fanbase) concerns which Sissoko will appear - will he come on, run around and do the square root of nowt, or be worth all of his £30m Euros-inspired pricetag? I'm inclined to think the former.

Harry Kane has never scored a Premier League goal in August, and he's only scored one in September. In addition he's not scored in the last 5 games. It's nailed on then that he goes one better than last time he played here and scores a hat-trick tomorrow.

Please dont play Bojan on the right. Does not work. I would get rid of the three in midfield as well. Does not work. Leslie has to,learn and see that nobody knows what the f8ck is going on with three in midfield.

Given Bardsley Shawcross cameron pieters Whelan Allen imbula Walters bony arnautovic Subs: grant, muniesa, indi, Adam, sobhi, crouch, bojan I think this might be it...if not this Hughes might go with Diouf instead of Walters on the right. It'll be interesting to see if Cameron take his chance. He played well last time out and if Indi isn't quite match fit he could got a shot for a few games in his favoured position. Good to have so much competition all over the pitch. Would take a draw but feeling optimistic about this one. Queue inevitable embarrassing defeat....

Whatever side he puts out I wish for a second striker alongside bony full time, sick and tired of a lone striker who wins the ball and then is isolated and nowhere to go! Oh and Cameron at right back!

I'm fairly sure Indi was brought in to be a first choice defender. Word that he is lacking sharpness is very worrisome to me, as our defence cannot afford to be worse off than we were at the end of last season... Having to choose between a part time starter, who just played two international matches at right back, and a player that looks like he hasn't even seen a football for months is troubling. Hopefully whichever one that gets the nod plays well.

Have a read on the "is football boring thread" The fear of losing is strangling the game. Based on your post, park the bus and make sure we come away with a 0-0 draw seems to be the desired approach. Me, I'd rather take another 4-1 (2 late counter-attack goals) tanking knowing that we are trying to win the game rather than not even try.

It is annoying how when we get an attacking player in it takes ages for them to bed into the team. With that in mind it would be a relief if Bono started with a goal.
