Big game for Hughes. Lose and we could easily be seven games in to the season without a win (always lose at Palace, V Pulis, At United). He needs to get it right. Hardly a big game in the manner you're describing. I doubt Spurs, even with CL, will lose more than 5 league games this season. They're a very good team, with an astoundingly good manager. Can't disagree re: Palace and Pulis though. Lose on Sat and they will both be spurred on to inflict even further damage. Win (or draw) this weekend and it'll provide a huge amount of confidence/relief. Spurs will be as tough as Man City, IMO. Blimey people waking up as I've said since boro WBA will decide Hughes future no one can stand 1 point from 7 games after the end of season we had and at that point a 17 game trend for less than 30 points in a season . might just be against uncle Roy too .

I don't know why, but I can't get overly enthusiastic about whichever team we put out at this moment in time. The squad seems to be to much of a mish mash to me, if you get my drift. I can only see another defeat. Hope I'm wrong though!

A draw wouldn't be a bad result at all. I think he'll go with
Shay
Bards Ryan GCam Eric
Whelan Imbula Joe
Walters Bony Arny
Not my choice but I think that'll be it
I'd go with
Given
Bards Ryan GCam Eric
Imbula Joe
Shaq if fit Sobhi if not Bojan Arni
Boni
For me Whelan slows us down to much

Would have held fire for a week or so but the casualty list makes it a bit of a no brainer. Fuck their heads up, occupy their width and smash them through the middle. Bardsley first up on free kicks, hopefully not on yellows. Rotate the set pieces throughout that team. Pepper 'em. Go on you rip roarers. --------------------Given---------------------- ----------Cameron Shawcross Pieters------------- ------Bardsley Allen Imbula Adam Arnautovic----- -------------------Bojan Bony-------------------- Hopefully some impact left to come off the bench/ Now is the time*. *still time to change me mind. Fitness updates etc.

It's going to be a very tough game regardless of who we or they have available. A loss won't be unexpected and isn't the end of the world but it will make looking at the table difficult. I think man city and Spurs out of the way while we wait for our best players to come back and/or gel will give us the opportunity to start racking up points against the poorer opposition in a few weeks time.
Butland out is a huge loss though, I think bards has been fine and shaqiri when fit will be like a new signing. Combine with a great forward in bony and we will start getting back to our best before too long. Let's just hope we can get a few more points on the board in the mean time.

Could potentially be looking at? Given Bardsley Shawcross Cameron Pieters Allen Whelan Diouf or Walters Bojan Arnautovic Bony With hopefully Shaq on the bench with Indi That's what I'd go with and Diouf would be an easy decision over Walters. I'd much prefer Walters there over Diouf tbh, he's had some decent games on the right where as I'm really struggling to remember one from Diouf apart from his right back master class against Chelsea.

Danny Rose confirmed as missing the game...
"Danny feels very disappointed after the game against Slovakia. You know, sometimes it happens in football and we hope it’s not a big injury and he can be ready as soon as possible, but he’s out for Saturday."

Id be tempted to bench Imbula
Given
Bardsley Cameron Shawcross Pieters
Allen Whelan
Arnie Bojan Walters/ Sobhi
Bony
Could see him going with the same defence but
Whelan Imbula Allen
Arnie Bony Bojan

Given Bardsley Cameron Shawcross Pieters Allen Whelan Arnautovic Bojan Ramadan Bony 1-1 Replace Geoff with Martins Indi and that's my team. Once that team clicks it'll do some damage, it might just take a little while yet, have faith people.

Once that team clicks it'll do some damage, it might just take a little while yet, have faith people. I've only put Cameron in due to Mark Bowen saying that Indi is lacking match sharpness. I'm hoping that Indi is the real deal for us once he's up to speed (thumbs up)

Its a home game so would like to see Charlie given a run out. Proven matchwinner and makes things happen that no-one else in the team does on a regular basis.
With our current lack of creativity, its a bit of a travesty that he hasnt played this season. Its not like Imbula/Bojan/Whelan have started the season firing.
Allen is our only current central midfielder on form. Its tailor made for Adam to play - he can also drift wide and lay some crosses onto the head of Bony.
Wouldnt play Adam away from home, but at home he deserves a chance. He must be pretty peeved sitting on the subs bench watching our stating eleven muster 5 shots on goal in 3 games

Watching the Hughes interview, still seems a long shot that Johnson will start after 2 days training, but encouraging all the same.
Going to be a big call for him to leave Imbula or Bojan out - but surely he'll have to? And you'd think Bony would need someone like Bojan buzzing around him to stop him getting isolated.
I'd love him to go with Sobhi, but I'm probably still expecting:
Given Bardsley Shawcross Cameron Pieters Allen Whelan Diouf (if fit, if not Walters) Bojan Arnie Bony

Jesus Christ we sign a proper centre half and people want to play Cameron instead. The only way to get match fit is to play matches!!! Unbelievable!!!

Jesus Christ we sign a proper centre half and people want to play Cameron instead. The only way to get match fit is to play matches!!! Unbelievable!!! Bowen's quotes seem to give the impression they aren't going to chuck him straight in, but who knows? Cameron's had a busy travel week Sentinel“One thing I would say is that he hasn't had a lot of first-team football this year. He's been on the fringes at Porto for one reason or another so he might have to be slightly patient, even though, having said that, you look at him physically on the training ground and he looks up to speed.
“But, as the gaffer talks about sometimes, maybe it's that sharpness with him in a game situation.
“I'm not saying it's not there, but if it isn't it might take a little time to come to fruition because he hasn't played a lot of 11 v 11 games."

From the presser, I think he'll play the following:
Given
Bardsley Shawcross Martins Indi Pieters
Whelan Imbula Allen
Walters Bony Arnie
Subs:
Grant Muniesa Cameron Bojan Sobhi Crouch N'Goy
