If you want your snout in the trough then you have to pay the price. This is one of them. Get on with it. Sad but true - this is the bottom line if you want the big money... Not sure I do want the big money. Don't get me wrong I don't look back misty eyed and yearn for piss soaked unsafe terraces and mud for pitches. But all too much of the new money is spunked away on overpriced preening tatooed millionaires who are bang average at best. A little less money in the game may encourage more focus on longer term planning rather than chucking cash at quick fixes, more patience with home grown talent and more clubs owned by people who care about football rather than any number of dubious chancers and criminals that fancy an adornment for their planet sized egos. You might even get a better England team out of it as well.

The question remains though , where is this more and more football on tv taking us ? I won't have sky as that would make me a hypocrite and anyway it's no substitute for live football. If I watch any game other than a Stoke one I am just not interested ! And , Friday night is my beer and curry night getting ready for Saturday , if we are playing that is.

It'll be nice to have a game to watch on a Friday night but what a fucking shambles to send Southampton all that way. Absolutely no consideration shown.
It's absolutely needless. Bunch of fucking cunts.

Shit fixture to go to as a Stoke fan. But if you've got Sky and its not Stoke it's obviously a bonus. The more footy televised, the better.

I'm for it if it's instead of Monday night football, but against it if it's aswell as Monday night football. In either case the matches should be limited to teams who're no more than an hour apart. I'm sure they could easily fill the schedule with matches between London clubs, or North West clubs etc... Having Southampton travel upto Manchester is just plain stupid. i agree with your sentiments but then people would moan that it's more big clubs on tv. For me outside of Saturdays this is a better day. Too much Sunday kicks imo.

At the end of the day the % of people that watch football don't attend games, therefore want to watch in TV, so the more that want to watch on Tv the more games sky etc are going to want to show, so put more money in. And as games are not allowed to be screened at 3pm as thus to protect the lower leagues and tradition, games will always get moved. As someone who goes to 95% of games, you get used to it and kinda get over it to a degree. A friday/Monday night or sunday game creates a free saturday to do something else, so in a way its nice to have the odd free saturday due to a game being moved, as it gets a long season with just saturday KO's when people are asking you to do this and that on a saturday. Yes they are a ballache, but to a degree is not much different to being in a lower league with about 4/5 potential extra away games that are midweek anyway

Totally against on two fronts. One, the ridiculous travel for the away supporters(and the travelling home fans too) in the horrendous traffic situation that is Friday. Two, and more important from a personal view, Friday night is usually Saints rugby league night. That said, the powers that be (Sky) have even screwed that up by introducing Thursday night rugby league, as well. He who pays the piper, etc. I guess. That is another reason for being against, never been to to Rugby league game but still think that Friday night is Rugby night and at the very least there should be no Football on Friday during Rugby season, better still none whatsoever leave it to the smaller clubs living in the shadow of giant`s (Vale) By the way do you like your new ground or did you prefer Knowesley road? Knowsley Road was an outdated dump but with an amazing atmosphere. The new place is, for me, in a crap location, plastic and has zero atmosphere. Saints don't even play like Saints anymore, although they have picked up a little in the last couple of months. I even gave up my season ticket after the move. Just doesn't feel right and I can't get my super fish and peas before the game. So, it's a thumbs down from me.

Its personal preferences but this person could do without both Friday and Monday football, both of which take the shine off the weekend.

Looks impressive from Tesco car-park but me be a nightmare to get away as i presume there is only one entrance/exit road? My former boss at the time of the move kept asking me about moving to a new ground my answer was in the old ground your memories came to life by looking around,in the new ground there is no link, suppose it will come in time for some but fear i am too long in the tooth

Dead, dead against it, Friday night is the worst night of the week for me. The sad thing is that the rearranged TV fixtures have taken all of the buzz out of midweek night matches.

Anyone that thinks that the schedule is designed with the fans at the match needs to give their head a wobble. TV money trumps everything. Pretty soon it will be on every night.

I did the drive from Tilbury to Liverpool a few Fridays ago....holy shit!!! As for Friday night footie...excellent over in the USA, gives me a justifiable reason to quit the office early and head downtown to Stats sports bar who have some amazing dusky barmaids

Think I might be tempted to A34 it all the way to the M56, it's not an easy call though.

Typically selfishly, I'm not keen on our games being moved but am grateful from an armchair perspective of having an additional gamenight on tv.

Totally opposed , notoriously the worst day to travel in this country & the hardest day to secure leave / time off..Friday's is the preserve of a few lower league clubs forced down that route due to having bigger , better supported neighbours ..no regard for match going fans Could I do without the TV money and revert to the days of Saturday afternoon ..yes I could...could the players..you better ask them 100 % agree, hate Monday night football but that is not half as bad as Friday which for me (Lancashire) mean`s M6 southbound virtual gridlock from mid afternoon onward`s for as far you care to travel northbound not much better so to add to this congestion is stupidity and should be confined to local derbies if at all . Completely agree. I come down from Yorkshire and the M1 on a Friday evening is a total nightmare. As usual, the supporters don't matter

That sums up my views perfectly. problem with matches for teams close together though will be policing though i'd have thought? most derbies have extra police and i can't see them being able to cope with policing a derby on a friday night and also having to cope with the normal friday night revellers as well. it's not like a saturday/sunday when the police can do the footy in the afternoon then the pissheads in town later on, friday night football will overlap the tits on the piss in town brigade.
