Well the results are through and I was unfortunate not to be selected. (Out of interest, I wonder if I was close or was I well out in numbers of votes??) As stated earlier in the thread, as with any election, I think the votes should be published and ask that this be done. The turnout would also be interesting.

It could also be a good topic on how we increase votes and also encourage greater participation.

Let's see how many gobshites on here actually put themselves forward. For what it's worth Malcolm I think you guys do Stoke City a great service. Fair play to you Isn't the aim to do Stoke City supporters a service? I know that this matter has been a cause of confusion in the past

Paul, you will need to ask the club for that information as the votes were cast on the club website. I am sure they will oblige. Thanks for your interest and to all who voted. I hope that you will vote for those involved in the specialist seats later this week too.

The number of votes cast is classified the same as the number of season tickets sold. If you are told you'll be shot the minute after.

Paul, as promised I asked the club and received the answer that it's a matter for the Council themselves rather than the club to decide whether the figures should be published. They made the point that it hasn't been done previously, so it's not for the club to decide that it should now be done. I can see where there are coming from, and understand their caution, although I don't really agree. I think in this matter the club is effectively not the football club as such, but rather the returning officer, and that in any election, it's almost self-evident that the returning officer should publish the results to the electorate. It's true that it hasn't been done before, and wasn't done in my time as Chair of the SC, but, to the best of my knowledge the Council has never decided not to do it, rather nobody ( including me, to my embarrassment) thought to do it, and nobody asked that it be done. The fact that it is now being asked for is a good sign in that it shows a greater interest in the election. I can see that Angela may feel it's difficult for her to request this, given that she was a candidate in the election and, at this point in time, is not the chair, at least until the next meeting, although I would think that all the candidates would be entitled to see the figures and there is nothing to stop them publicising them if they so wish. But it would look a bit odd for candidates to be publishing them, if it's not being done formally and officially. I have made these points back to the club, but if they don't change their mind, I suggest electors write to the SC asking that a decision be taken at the next meeting that the figures for this and all subsequent elections be published. I hope this helps, Paul.

So essentially, cutting to the chase ... if the Supportes Council want to officially (as the council) publish the figures, then there is absolutely nothing stopping them from doing so?

Yes, that's exactly right
