Allardyce should have been England manager years ago. Still time to appoint him so we don't continue this dreary tip tap garbage for the rest of the tournament. I'd take your bait back to the shop. Looks like it is at least 2 years out of date.

Just trying to come up with a replacement for Roy and it's hard to think of anyone. Klinsmann? Step up the capped one.

Sack the tw@t now - taking Rooney off is unforgivable as one of best players of the night AND our captain - just when we needed experience and a steady head fucking Woy takes him off ......
And don't even get me started on Sterling........

He should have been sacked 2 years ago. Tactically inept & talks in bland phrases that say nothing. Even with him in charge we will have to cock up big time not to qualify from the group but we'll lose to the 1st good team we come up against in the knockout stages.

He does make it difficult to like him, always seems to jump on the defensive and uses his vocabulary to talk himself out of explaining what really went wrong.

Roy actually said a lot of good things post-match. Worst thing about tonight is the media reaction and their huge amount of disrespect for Russia.
Forgot how bad it gets.

At the risk of being an apologist for Woy, it wasn't him that missed all those chances and switched off at the end. We should have won by 4 or 5 . Russia were very poor and never looked like scoring till then. Unless, I was watching a completely different game.

I'd like to see a charismatic Manager like Beckham, however I think it's time OPTA stats picked the squad and the manager was responsible for forging a team from them.
This constant squeaky clean old man approach who always seems obliged to limit his players from the so called big teams is destroying the international game in this country.
If players have to earn the right to be in the squad then we might see some pride and effort. At the moment it's a group of spoilt brats on a jolly up

IMO he should be sacked if we don't win it (which is highly unlikely) Gouranga. Roy Hodgson should have been relieved of his duties after the last World Cup. We need someone like Eddie Howe to move forward. It's the same old problems. High balls that we cannot defend against. An impotent attack with the worst England attacker I've ever seen in Sterling. He's completely useless. Vardy on for Wales game instead.

Sacking him is more about punishing him for ineptitude than having somebody better lined up. There's no point to international football if you just employ a foreign manager (although it does typify the mercenary, 'bringing on our own talent is too difficult, let's just get somebody from abroad' Premier League attitude), but the English options are all quite unpalatable.
For now, let's not even entertain thoughts of quarter finals until we get out of the group.

If we won it, he still should be sacked.
But who is there to replace him?
No English manager is good enough.
Southgate is so far a massive failure as a manager.
Eddie Howe in the long run could be OK.
The very best foreign managers have all just got jobs.

I think David Beckham would be an excellent choice as England manager. He always gave 100% as a player for England and how passoinate he is about the country he would be exactly the same as manager. I beleive he would get the best out of anybody who plays for England because he gives his all in everything he does and he would get the england players to do the same

You don't just pick 11 players, point to the lions on your shirt and shout something about Bobby Moore. The best England performances at tournaments have come from managers who had a bit of tactical nous.

Until the FA sort the sorry state of coaching in this country out there shouldn't be another Englishman in charge of the national side for a decade unless in that time one really comes to the fore.

Hodgson should be sacked after last night. It proved that no matter how superior we are he is incapable of masterminding a tournament victory over a team that isn't a minnow.
It is unacceptable that we did not win the match

Every season if an English manager has a good season fans will say he might be in the running for the next England manager. Alan Pardew was mentioned last season but now most fans would be petrified if he was in charge of the national team. I agree Bayern we would have to use a foreign manager preferably with experience in the Premier League.
