Haha, I really can't understand everyone panicking. It's a fucking friendly . I watched for about 85 mins and I saw a much improved performance from Burton. They look fitter and better. Hamburg weren't great and we had the better half. Second half we still looked OK despite people saying we looked dross. Mame had a few chances that he should've scored and Shaq looked decent. Bojan looks raring to go. Imbula was also very commanding. Lets not forget Butland, the kid is on par with De Gea IMO. Anyway, there's a lot we can take from this, Whelan still needs game time, but he's got 6 days to work on that. Hamburg have played more pre season games also than us. Joey looked a menace in midfield, can't wait for him play next week, Ramadan wasn't great but he needs to settle and learn the language. Lets not forget we missed Arnie's contribution, who I think is our best player. With an added bit of atmosphere and competition at stake the lads will up their game and play much better next week, you'll see. So when we win 2-0. Humble pie will be served to the minority. UTMP!

No idea, but from watching them both today he def does! I just find it a bit strange that if Joe has been brought in to replace Glenn (as many people have suggested) that Hughes wouldn't then want to give him at least some game time playing in that role before the season started. Today he's played exactly where he played for Liverpool and Swansea. I would have thought that Allen would play the Affelay role for Stoke?

Yes... As in we've improved since then. Ah right. I thought it might have been a typo of Bojan.

What game did you watch???? Imbula commanding? Shaqiri had a good game? The only comment that holds any credence is bojan raring to go.

Just back home and a few observations......a few bemused faces from the home support at the constant singing first half. As the ale took hold there was less singing and more of a low groan and lots stumbling around with a few really stinky farts let off. Some little boys we have amongst the support.
It's sometimes a God send that I cant/won't drink and drive, so you can see what real pricks we have that follow us
Imbula tried but kept trying to go through the middle every time instead of using width. Bojan was sharp, Jack was in good form......we created very few chances created.
Met a few other Dutch stoke fans so plans are being made for a few more trips over an mass.
Also chatted to some top Hamburg fans who were very friendly.
And on a final note if the person who threw their beer to the front and hit my lad on the head like to show themselves I will gladly fill the childish cunts face in !!!!
DRINK YOUR ALE YOU CUNT!!!!!!!

Why people pay good money for ale then throw it away to try and look big is beyond me, what a waste! As for the game, decent stream thanks to Starstreams, we started brightly and I was quite impressed for 20 mins or so, slick passing a couple of decent attempts and a few corners. We then went into safe mode. Cameron- tries to be too clever in the wrong areas and it does my tree in! Shaq was Shaq although a well worked corner with a bright Bojan deserved a better outcome, he got to the bye line a time or two and knocked it in but his dead ball stuff is shocking. Whelan was well off it but that can be excused given his break. The main dissapointment for me was that we are completely toothless up top. Doofy again only had one half up front before being cast out wide and Joselu is one I actually agree with March4 on, he isn't up to it. Sobhi showed in flashes and I think he will be decent. We missed Arnie. It was only a friendly and these are only my opinions but, we badly need to get Berahino and a centre half asap. Oh and a mention for Joe Allen, he will fast become a favourite and hope he starts alongside Imbula next week.

They can pass on the general consensus that they are a disgrace to their club and their nation. I sometimes think it is better for everyone that English clubs don't get involved in International events. If as a group we can't rein in the minority that do this, why should we suffer them on others?

We all assumed Allen would replace Whelan, but right now it seems it is Whelan and Imbula or Allen behind Bojan in the middle, or the three of them behind the BMX. Of course, it may be that he just wanted to give Glenn 90 minutes today and ease Allen into things slowly, without asking him to run the midfield, but it is tough to see how Glenn will miss out next weekend right now. I guess Joe will have to earn his place off the bench.

I think Mark will rotate Whelan, Allen and Imbula depending on the game.

The club must make an effort to stop it

We still look devoid of ideas going forward, they couldnt score in one of the numerous brothels here. I hope the dickhead who was throwing beer from the back of the standing area was caught and given a serious fooking beating, it happened on at least 4 occasions, what is up with these wankers who think it is ok to throw a pint over people, (also food yesterday) the back of some blokes were wet through and were not pleased and they shouldnt be. A great time in the fan zone after, there was free beer, and a great night in town.

We really do have some tools as fans, we have a minority few who really are knobheads. Sadly, the best stoke away days these days are the ones where you actually avoid seeing the majority of the other travelling stokies. We must have the biggest percentage of total inbreeds that follow our club than any other team in the country. Having said that, after my trip to watch Bradford v vale yesterday I'm thinking it must be a stoke thing because there was a similar make up of inbreeds amongst the vile support as well.

We were refused entry to a pub last night because we were from Stoke....man on door basically saying was Hamburg FC pub. Good job really as i'd got a pair of St Pauli socks in my hand!! Were a few lads outside, we went in the Night Light rock bar next door, great little place if you're into heavy metal. Came out and lots of stoke fans outside a bar right opp the Hamburg pub we had just been denied entry to, said to my brother it may get interesting later...

Thought we played well in the first 15 minutes of the game, but after that we really looked predictable and uninterested in the final third of the pitch. All in all not too bad, but one thing still baffles me about this team! Why do we end up with Eric putting in most of the crosses! We seemed to end up with this most of the time last season too and this game was exactly the same! Can't Sparky see Eric is among the worst players in the league when it comes to crossing!? His crossing is really terrible so why do we play in a way where Eric must do this more often than any other player on the pitch!!!?
