Well we are tenth and will probably finish at least there, so arguably he has. Leicester are first and will probably finish there, have they spent more money than us ? I don't think it's fair to compare Leicester's once in a lifetime season to our injury ravaged average one. If everybody started using the "Well look at Leicester!" argument, every fan from every team in the league would be saying the same thing.

Really why not similar sized club, a club that was almost relegated last season, have spent less on transfers than we have, but of course we have been injury ravaged again.

All clubs have injuries, that is the reason we have a squad, could it be that we have signed a number of injury prone players ?

Because it's something that's never happened and will probably not happen again for a long, long time? If you were comparing us to the progress that a West Ham have made, I'd see where you were coming from. But every fan in the country is in awe of what Leicester are doing, because it's literally ridiculous.

I can't read all this but when I see words like embarrassing and liability somewhere I else despair.

Did anyone figure out what the thread title actually means? I'll be fucked if I'm reading 4 pages.

Owners and shareholders have a responsibility to scrutinize the performance of their senior employees. It's what they do to protect their investments, their customers and their employees. I submit that all these stake holders had expectations, based on last season's performance and subsequent investments, that the team would deliver a measureable improvement. In my opinion they fell short and the management should be held accountable. Coates seems like a reasonable person; however, I doubt he sees Stoke City FC as a charity or a very expensive hobby. I expect the 2016/17 season is put-up or shut-up for Sparky et al. Spot on In a season in which the league is going to be won by Leicester and there is a 50% chance that the FA Cup may be won by crystal palace, finishing in 10th place with a massive negative goal difference is, in my opinion, a certificate of under achievement So if you are going to use Leicester as a yardstick to claim we've underperformed then ,assuming they win the league, is it fair to say every single team bar Leicester has under achieved this season ? Or are you going to move the goalposts?
