Hughes IS the right man to take us forward.
Have faith.
Yes we're in a sticky patch but it's no fucking use moaning and calling for Hughes head.
If we have a new manager then there's every chance he'll want a new team and we're back to square 1 and we'll probably end up asking TP to save us.
Stick with Hughes, it's a longterm project and one that I fully expect him to complete.

Let's look at the facts
Our final position this year will be 10th with s goal difference of -10 upwards so it's no improvement on last season
So in a season in which everyone was hoping to progress to the mythical next level that's not too good, is it ?
Imo the GD statistic gives the true picture of how poor we were over-all
We struggled to score and our defence was far from solid
So whoever thinks that Hughes' future at the club might not be so secure certainly has good reason to think so

The thing is looking for transfer rumours this summer on here was horribly depressing because people were lining up to tell everyone how worried they were about a disastrous season. With that in mind another win and 50 points would be a reasonable year.
However, it is definitely true that next year needs to be a big improvement, at least in terms of consistency. Shaqiri and Imbula will be in their second year and I imagine Hughes' time at the club will be judged on how much they contribute next season.

I would be surprised if he wasn't the manager on the last game of the 2016-2017 season whatever happens. After that is down to whether we have a good season or not.

In the cold light of day I would say If Benitez is available in the summer then go for him. Otherwise stick with Hughes we are safe with him. Needs to wiseup in the summer and learn the importance of work rate What a bizarre comment....do you think he's been in the dressing room the last few weeks saying "Tell you what lads, just give 50% today and no more please"? Formation, tactics, lineup are down to the manager. Them not being arsed and not working hard enough is down to those on the pitch. All are players that usually do give 100% so it's not as if he's got lazy players in the side that don't know how to put the effort in. When it comes to work rate it's the players that need to take a long hard look at themselves. They've let everyone (including Hughes) down over the last few games. Try placing the blame where it lies instead of just taking a frankly lazy cop out of thinking it's all down to the boss. But compare this Stoke team to the likes of Leicester and Tottenham. They are miles fitter and put in way more miles during the average game, they are stats that are easily available. That starts on the training pitch

I do wonder how long the Coates' family will put up with this humiliation. The club being humbled reflects badly on Bet365 and they won't allow that to go on for much longer. Next match is massive for LMH. The club needs stability, but ................... Look what happened to Brittania, they got so fucked off with the results they disappeared off the map.

Back to the original thread, since Hughes' sides are perennial slow starters it looks like he may well have to go on your say so. Rather than wait until October, why not just sack him now?
Stupid, attention-seeking post! Go and support Man U - they've got a massive army of fans like you!

Beginning to sound worryingly familiar....
This is the theory: Hughes, fresh from ditching Fulham in his quest for world domination, swanned into QPR and blew wads of Fernandes’ cash on sub-standard players who milked their employers for all they could get while not being particularly bothered with the business of winning football matches. Arrogant, standoffish and tactically inept, the blundering manager took QPR to their knees before he was finally put out of his misery and sacked by Fernandes

Arrogant, standoffish and tactically inept, the blundering manager took QPR to their knees before he was finally put out of his misery and sacked by Fernandes None of that sounds particularly familiar. All the players currently playing for us have in their time here shown themselves to be extremely bothered about winning football matches. Quite a few of them still are. I have concerns that a handful are not displaying that trait at present, but that's not at all the same as what you've described, which isn't even an accurate summary of what happened at QPR. This is a different scenario. Our manager needs to sort it, but he is the best person to sort it. He's had almost three seasons of being really good, the current situation is cause for considerable concern and needs urgent rectification but it doesn't mean the manager is suddenly shit.

The players or squad have hit the wall and it's impossible to get going after that. Not so. Plenty of teams have 'hit the wall' and been turned around, often by the incumbent manager.

I'm not denying we're terrible at the moment and there's a serious issue somewhere that needs sorting, but the current manager needs to do it, not some johnny-come-lately with no knowledge of or passion for the club.

GD tell you one thing and one thing only, goals scored - goals conceded. If you want to discern one thing from it, it's that were usually getting 3 points when we score first and that we're almost guaranteed to lose after scoring first. Our goal difference could be -30 for all I care but if we're on 47 points in 10th, who gives one?

I'm convinced that when the coates as owners assess the performance of the team at the end of the season the GD consideration will not be discarded as irrelevant. For me it's like looking at a person who looks perfectly healthy then you submit him to some medical results and find that hey not everything is quite in place The GD statistic shows that we have not scored enough and have conceded far too many When an objective and professional analysis is made, this consideration should be given its due importance

You're just hunting for a stick to beat the manager with.
