How great would it be if this were true?

Seems like a hell of a lot of money for a relative unknown. I would much prefer we went for some young home grown talent. The way we are going, we are going to struggle to reach the minimum number of home grown players in our 25 man squad for the 2016/17 season. There has to be some real quality players in the lower leagues surely.

He's hardly a relative unknown, he's one of the most coveted strikers in Europe.

If we sign him it'll be an unbelievable coup, he's a phenomenal player and he's exactly what we need. He's very Lukaku'y, he has awesome hair and I'm dying for us to get him. Played with Imbula too so they'll each have a pal at the club to start the new French clique!

40 million is too much, for that much he would have to score at least 20-25 goals a season, I think we could get a proven premier league striker for much less. Also, I think if we are spending 40 mil I would prefer a new cb and rb

I looked at the THREAD as I thought it may have been something informative. I didn't click on the link as soon as I saw it was you that had posted it and the inevitable sentinel link that followed.

I think this guy could be over priced but if he was a brit the price would be mental.

It's a huge gamble at that price. Even if he is young with bags of promise, it's too much to pay for a player for a club like us who are still building from the kick and rush football that we came to be known by. We aren't in that bracket for paying that sort of money for a player. He would have to be great from the start and I can't see it as the expectancy would be massive. Personaly I would go for James Wilson in the summer. Young, quick, English and something to prove in the premier league. From what I have seen of him he has the potential to be a great striker and there would be no pressure on him. Maybe not a 20 goal a season striker but if the midfield isn't firing, you wont get that from a £30 million striker.

I remember the hype on here when we signed Shaq.
A season later and he has done next to nothing.

Get used to new, inflated prices with the TV deal - the numbers are bound to almost double as European clubs look to cash in on the additional wealth.

I'd much prefer Simone ZAZA proven goal scorer in a much more difficult league and surely would cost much less

Batshuyi would be a massive gamble
Forget the highlights
I've seen him play a couple of times watching the entire match and my opinion of him is that (a) he is still very immature as a player; (b) extremely prone to wandering offside; and (c) needs to have 3/4 good chances before he tucks one in
Now of course we might buy him and he becomes a massive player for us but at this stage all that money being touted as his price tag I think it's a massive risk

I think hes just what we need. Of course hes not the finished article otherwise bigger clubs would be coming in for him now.
But with his age and potential, the sell-on value in a couple of years would be even higher.
We need the all-round beast of a striker still after all the ones we have signed.
Good signs coming from the club if we are still going after this kind of quality

It is easy remember only the chances a striker puts away but most of them have plenty of efforts which don't hit the net.
