Ryan, are you suggesting there's a Championship reserve out there now we should be looking to sign to spearhead next season's Europa push? I'm suggesting its not impossible to find players just as good for pence, Harry Kane come from nowhere he did nothing spectacular out on loan. Pochettino didn't even really fancy him at first it was the spurs fans urging him to be played. Them there's the non league wonder vardy. Giving Hughes 30 m to spend on a foreign striker is daft imo without getting the final verdict on his big money signings so far from abroad. Besides how many throws of the dice on a forward? If the others didn't suit him for whatever reason what makes us think that a 30m player would? Because he's 30 million?

It's a gamble, no question, and I'm not even convinced a striker should be the priority. But suggesting it's a bad idea because we signed Ricardo for 500k in the Championship is bizarre logic. You're comparing apples with oranges.

You're comparing apples with oranges. maybe it's more to do with I'd like to see us sign some British & British based players that feel they are privileged to be at scfc and have a desire & hunger to match. Its more the other way atm imo, we can't criticise these guys we're fortunate they are here according to a lot so they get an easy ride from supporters and manager because they come from bigger things, it seems that way to me anyway

Jamie vardy, as much as I hate to say it but I do wonder wether his work ethic comes from the fact he's been much lower so he values his position more? How many can we say that about in our team?

We've undoubtedly downed tools at times lately which is incredibly disappointing and heads have dropped and we've had a few uncharacteristic battering a. But we've also shown plenty of heart at times this season as well. English players - attacking players at least - tend to come at a premium that makes them just as big a risk. Vardy and Alli are the exception, not the rule. I'm not saying we shouldn't explore the lower leagues but I don't think that's necessarily any greater market than the Bundesliga or wherever. Leicester and West Ham's success this season is as much to do with the overseas talent they've found as the British talent.

I remember the hype on here when we signed Shaq. A season later and he has done next to nothing. And yet he has set up more goals than anyone else in our team.

Get used to new, inflated prices with the TV deal - the numbers are bound to almost double as European clubs look to cash in on the additional wealth. Amongst premier league teams possibly, but not from teams abroad.

People keep mentioning Vardy as a success story from the lower leagues that Premier League clubs should copy. Nobody mentions that Leicester signed him for 1M in the Championship and as far back as last season was struggling to get in the side, ironically linked to Tone at West Brom. No Premier League club would take a 1M gamble on a striker from Fleetwood. Not one.

"He began his professional career back home with Standard Liege before crossing the French border to join Marseilles in 2014."
So, which other borders were options if he wanted to get from Liege to Marseille ??

Get used to new, inflated prices with the TV deal - the numbers are bound to almost double as European clubs look to cash in on the additional wealth. Amongst premier league teams possibly, but not from teams abroad. Absolutely spot on. Marseille will sell Batty to a PL team despite interest from Dortmund and a few other on the continent (who can't compete financially) and the French media are busy whipping up an auction. 40m Euro seems to be his price now although there's rumour we're trying to send someone the other way. WHU also seem to be playing a longer game in signings since Bilic arrived with succession planning by trying to bring in promising youth as well. Yesterday they signed Toni Martinez from Valencia for £2.4m and today Quina from Chelsea's youth system. www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/west-ham-sign-domingos-quina-7815543? Will be an interesting summer.

40 mill (euros) is a lot but he is s class player.
He will score goals though and there's a reason Juve are also after him.

I don't get the concern over a multi-billionaires wallet and a club literally dripping in cash.
You either want the players or not. If you do then sometimes you have to pay top dollar.

Yes, only 1400 odd people looked at it so far in one afternoon (including you), what a waste. I looked at the THREAD as I thought it may have been something informative. I didn't click on the link as soon as I saw it was you that had posted it and the inevitable sentinel link that followed.
[/b] This is the action of a typical troll and is also liked by the other idiot (crownmethane) who does similar stupid observations. I also note that your own contributions to this site in the form of informative threads is almost non existent, your last thread was dated 2015. Also the fact that there have been circa 3500 views and loads of discussion about the link disprove your assertion that these links are a waste of time.Nobody would read the Sentinel if they found these articles were uninteresting but the fact that most households in SOT do read them also disproves your view. So unless you start making some useful posts for a change I'm sure most people would rather you keep your pathetic views on other peoples threads to yourself.

Not ones that slag Stoke players off and define their Stoke city support by reading a shit newspaper.

I hope people don't think that by signing Batshuayi, we 'all of a sudden' overcome our complete inability to break teams down at Home, and start to score from set-pieces.

Got it, still no better on my Android phone Sorry about that mate. It works perfectly on IPad and iPhone for me. Are you sure you have it enabled? If it is enabled there will appear a small VPN icon top of your screen. On IPad I had to go into settings to enable it once it was downloaded. You can enable/disable whenever you want because it is very powerful and sometimes you won't want it.
