I think that shop is owned by current Demon guitarist Paul Hume who runs the Eleven Music venue in Stoke.

Have a word with yerself, Andrew, there's just no way that Def Leppard belongs on a Heavy Metal thread ;-) Always thought they were a pop band with loud drums and slightly loud guitars. They made Jovi sound like Morbid Angel. Btw are you still into your retrowave stuff?? There's definitely a resurgence in 80s style synthesizer soundtracks and 80s influenced horror movies.

Sorry trentvale I thought as I posted it, it was not 'heavy' metal as such but worth a mention & yes I'm still into my retrowave stuff & often put it on in the car. That & Planet Rock! Anyway, hope I can make amends with this one.....

Not for me Linkin Park but obviously a terrible shame. Real proof that being rich and famous doesn't always make you happy. I had no idea he suffered from child abuse. RIP Chester!

Volbeat are pretty decent. A strange blend of Metallica and Elvis. Awesome tunes!! Lola Montez is a perfect driving tune!

Seems like stuck on page 9 for ages now LOl Very underrated Sabbath era First heard this tune as a kid on an old VHS tape, "Rock Aid Armenia". Me & my sisters used to laugh at the way Tony sung headless 'cwoss'

A Place For My Head is a killer track on that album Meanwhile, another Sevenfold cover has come out today - Runaway with Robert Fitzgerald on Guitar and Zacky V on vocals! Their previous original new release, Dose is also a great track

Holy thread resurrection.
Just been reading a recent article about the whole Danzig getting knocked out thing, a blast from the past for me. I remember seeing that video, pretty much on repeat at high school and college etc. I've always liked Danzig but I thought it was pretty funny.
However there seems to be a shitter side to this. What an absolute cock Danzig seems to be. A proper little pampered prima donna. There are articles about him ruining music festivals because someone forgot to get him a bowl of French onion soup etc. Then he came out and said the punch was a setup, so they could try and sue him. He seems to be a real fucking moron.
Got me wondering though. We talk about footballers losing their touch with fans. How many rock stars still have the same common touch they once had? There's a great video on YouTube of young Metallica, taking the mickey out of Axl Rose because of his puffed up ego. Of course nowadays, you only see Hetfield shopping in designer outlets and he has zero time for the fans. Let's be honest, Danzig especially is pretty irrelevant these days so it's surprising he's so egotastic.
I don't have many experiences meeting rock stars, but I once went to see Black Label Society. Not my favourite band but few good songs. We turned up early, hit a few pubs, then grabbed a pack of beer and stood outside the venue (Newcastle Academy). All of a sudden, Zakk Wylde strolls out of the venue and walks up to us.... and asks us where the nearest McDonald's was, complete with that twangy Southern accent he's so famed for. We were completely in shock tbh, however he posed for photos with us and was really nice. Others spotted him and came over and he signed autographs and did photos before heading off in the direction we sent him. Cool guy, even if he's not quite my favourite guitarist.
Another one, well the band itself, I saw RATT (yeah I know) a few years back. They played a great show and at the end, they said they would be out the back signing a few autographs. Warren DeMartini was an absolutely awesome guy. He was chatting to us for hours, telling us stories about the 80's. I was wearing a Jake E Lee t-shirt (pre him getting back into music) and he took a photo and said he wanted to send it to Jake to show him how much he was still admired by fans. I went back in the bar, and Bobby Blotzer was drinking with fans and after a quick chat, he got everyone on the guest list for the next day.... unfortunately, the next gig was in Leeds and it felt a bit of a trek for me. He asked for my e-mail and said he would let me know that it was sorted. Sure enough, the next day, he actually e-mailed me and said "you and your mate are on the guest list". Genuinely some of the coolest guys I've ever met and clearly despite living on their past a bit, they're not pumped up enough to be egotistical about it.

I'm not normally one for wanting to meet my 'heroes' in case of disappointment. However, I was lucky enough to meet some members of The Dead Daisies after their brilliant Manchester Academy show in December 2015. It was freezing cold outside the venue and they could have just boarded their no doubt warm tour bus and ignored us, but did the very opposite. John Corabi, one of my favourite vocalists, seemed genuinely pleased when told how much we rated his Motley Crue album, whilst then members Richie Fortus and Dizzy Read (now back with GnR) and Marco Mendoza were all happy to chat in the cold to us and and pose for pictures. Genuinely nice guys as well as amazing musicians.
