Trent, I think I mentioned earlier in the thread that on that Thunder and Lightning album, Lynott was snorting so much coke that his nose was blocked almost entirely through the recording session which is why is voice sounds so raspy. Whereas coke usually affects other singers badly, it's as if Lynott was able to harness his blocked airways to make an incredibly vocal style on that album.
You either get it, or you don't:

Avenged Sevenfold's new single is finally out, The Stage. 8:38. A real return to form after how disappointing Hail to the King was!

Okay, okay, it's not strictly a metal song, but I enjoyed the sound of some of these

Does anyone know of any podcasts I can download on android that might be good for discovering new bands to get into? I discovered Volbeat for the first time on this thread and genuinely haven't stopped listening to them since. I've tried to find someone similar but haven't got close. Decided to go for the next best thing and try to find a podcast to find new bands. Any suggestions?

Never a Blaze fan when he sang in Maiden, but I remember hearing this when I was a kid and thinking it's an absolutely unbelievable live performance. I don't think Wolfsbane ever really had any other good numbers to their name, but they take the roof off with this performance.

Megadeth - Insomnia. Never really got this, but I think the Electric Violin thing really could have worked if he had perhaps used it on a better song. Good riff, but not a great song imo.

I'm going to see them in 2 weeks, really looking forward to it although I can't understand why they're supporting Alter Bridge. Anyway, here's another contribution to the thread from me. Some Japanese Hair Metal excess.

My favourite metal album My favourite tune of theirs though is Armenian Folk music fuses so well with metal. My favourite Maiden tune is probably Hallowed be thy name, but is there a better introduction to metal than this Got to be Phantom Of The Opera for me,though it's hard to listen to it without visualising Daley Thompson going hell for leather over the 'urdles.... Iron Maiden with Paul Di'Anno were 10 times better than Iron Maiden with Bruce Dickinson. The first two albums were absolute top notch. Can only think of number of the beast which was anywhere near to the first 2?

Bruce was more consistent.

Metallica having a bit of an identity crisis on this new album. Still....
Zakk Wylde is one of my least favourite guitarists, but I remember seeing this back in 2006, his tribute to Dimebag. Zakk and Dime were good friends, in fact, I believe Zakk was one of the guests at his funeral.

Big saturday night for the Doom mongers next week in Stoke. Benefit gig for the Savanna Charity at the Pilgrim's Pit Church Street 8pm. Featuring Moloch, Human Cull, and Bleak Zero.
Ideal antidote if we've suffered a humping, or an unusual way to celebrate a victory. £5 donation gets one in.

Watching scuzz all slipknot songs, used to fucking hate em but in the last 4/5years i love em and even saw them in 2015 at the echo arena with my fave band of all time Korn, it was a dream double bill and I loved every second! ( couldnt move my neck for hours or days after though lol).

Not for me Linkin Park but obviously a terrible shame. Real proof that being rich and famous doesn't always make you happy.
