That Pink Bubbles album was shite.
Notoced Kai and Kiske becoming friendlier with Youtube vids in the last 12-18 months doing bits together - there is an accoustic set of them doing Future World - loved that song
And below is an ace band called Stormwarrior doing Ride the Sky live (guitar work is unbelievable), Hansen comes out to join in

Nice to see straight forward metal doing well again
It seemed almost extinct around 1999/2000. I'll never knock the Nu Metal thing though, the scene needed freshening up and the results are seen today
Came across these, its an oppressive sound for sure It kind of reminds me of Godflesh ..but with real drums

I like raw, 2001 Avenged Sevenfold. StSt was a fantastic album if you look past the whole Nightmare and Hail to the King fanfare. Under rated, but this type of heavy is not everyone's cup of tea.

Ill endorse A7X as well They might be a little clichéd but they tick the boxes for me, they experiment, decent musicians, good production, good songs
Ill confess I'm only familiar with City Of Evil onwards but Ill have a listen to that early one for sure

Have you ever listened to Skindred? I kind of like it
This classic from Donnington - wait for the Newport Helecopter halfway through, crowd scene is amazing.

Waking the Fallen especially because it's a good mix of clean and hard vocals. Listen to I Won't See You Tonight Part 1, their best ballad by far, it's an incredible song, and Part 1 is actually part of a suicide note from a former member, Justin Sane. City of Evil is immense as well, and has a constant theme throughout. Really well made album

Volbeat are pretty decent. A strange blend of Metallica and Elvis.

Synster Gates - good guitar player in the vein of Downing & Tipton of Priest
What are your thoughts on Papa Roach?? More leaning towards hard rock but def one of Nu Metals survivors This is a great song

Never really been a fan of Papa Roach. If anything, Between Angels and Insects is probably my favourite Roach music. More into Limp Bizkit, 1999-2002 Linkin Park and System of a Down

Meatloaf on Saturday kitchen live right now. .... OMG !! Has he had a stroke? Sent from my GT-I9192 using proboards Did you hear his AFL performance a few years back? Sounded like a constipated Homer Simpson all the way through. Years of singing from the throat with so much power and no technique destroyed his voice

have to be honest I could never stand Meatloaf
I was always slightly baffled how he got lumped in with the Hard Rock/Metal genre, mind you the same thing was true of Fleetwood bloody Mac!!
'Ave some Motorhead

I like how Judas Priest remained relevant for donkeys years, proper good old rock n roll early doors, but my fave album (prob not everybodys cup of tea) was Painkiller, ace album!

Painkiller & Handle With Care are both top albums; late 80s early 90s was great for metal - until shitty grunge like Nirvana arrived in 1993

I like how Judas Priest remained relevant for donkeys years, proper good old rock n roll early doors, but my fave album (prob not everybodys cup of tea) was Painkiller, ace album! Halford didn't do many good performances of Painkiller with Priest. Although he's been sober for gone 30 year odd years, he seemed to be a troubled man in the 90's (perhaps due to his sexuality becoming common knowledge) and despite trawling through many videos on YouTube, none seem to feature the Halford we know and love, rather a distracted man. His later performances are riddled by the fact his voice has aged. This one however, is fucking perfect: Except for the fact the guitarist isn't KK Downing/Glenn Tipton and looks like he's barely learnt how to play Power chords. Look beyond the fact the other musicians are utter dross and you perhaps have the best Halford performance of Painkiller EVER.

A good 'new' un from Sabbath
And on Thin Lizzy, can only echo Metalhead in that Thunder & Lightning is a fuckfest of an album!!
And this one - Judas Priest would be proud of this riff
Not as heavy but a great song
And another ripper..

Ahem, errr, trust me, there's no need to like Judas priest to enjoy the delights of this video Pretty sure Halford wouldn't be into it Enjoy!
