Looks like his old self again. Missed a couple of chances but got his goal he deserved. Was a handful all afternoon. Great performance from the lad!

Stick with him for the rest of the season. We're a different team with him up top.

He's our best striker and will hopefully now get a run in the side.
Why it's taken this long is a anyone's guess.

Haven't screamed at a goal like that in a long, long time. Partly the occasion, but mainly because it was Mame. And I knew how much of a relief it was to everyone that he scored.

I'm still sceptical of whether he's our best option and I was going mad when he missed his two chances in the first half but I'm delighted it was him to get the goal. You could see his confidence go down after each mistake/miss so hopefully that picks him up and gets him on his way again. I don't think, technically, he's our best option but his pace is always a threat.

If anything I think today proved why we need better. His pace and physicality make him a handful yes, but he misses too many good chances and his touch is poor.
Sign a top quality striker in the summer and watch how much difference it will make.

Thank God he atoned for two poor misses with scoring an open goal. Hopefully that will do his confidence some good as we're crying out for a goalscorer

He had a very poor game, offered little but scored which is so important to him right now. At the back end of last season he was looking like a real top quality player, but his confidence was obviously knocked due to family reasons. If he is going to be here next season I'd like to see him start the remaining games to see if we can get the old Diouf back because if we can he'd have scored more than one today.

I don't think his confidence was all that shot, it seemed like he gave himself a kick up the arse which is what a proper professional does. The thing about Diouf is that not many of our other options would have made the runs that he did to get on the end of the chances he was on, so it's really hard to say "if it was Joselu he would have scored".

He's one of them that will miss a a few chances but needs a run of games to hit form. If we stick with him to the end of the season I'm sure he'll bag about 5 more goals.

If his finishing was better he'd be a 40m player. The thing I like about him is he never gives up. I'm still not 100 percent he's the complete player as he's not a natural finisher but boy did we look more of a threat with him.

So ecstatic for the lad.
You could see how much it meant to him and the rest of the team/management.
Not gonna lie, I thought the goal was disallowed due to the lack of celebration!

His finishing is questionable at best but we create so many more chances when he is in the side. Like today, he'll miss a couple but will also be likely to stick one or two away so should be in the team next week for sure.

Makes such a difference to have a player who makes the opposition defenders turn instead of us playing in front of them.
I'm in the "we want a new striker in the summer camp" BUT Mame is the best option we have.
If we could just get him, Bojan, Shaq and Arnie all firing together....

We look a far better team with Mame up top. He has some flaws, but he's our best striker by some distance and the team functions much better with him in it. His pace, movement and work rate help put him in positions that our other stikers just wouldn't find themselves in. His finishing needs some improvement, but those two chances in the first half were not easy. Always fancied him to get one second half and so glad for him that he finally put one away. Hopefully will do his confidence the world of good and we'll see him firing into top form for the run in.

Although he missed two big chances first half, he has much more impact than Walters. Deserves a start again next game. Shot a very important goal

He was so good. His movement up front is the difference between the chance creation that we saw today and the tepid possession that we've seen at other times. Yes, he should have done better with his two chances in the first half, but it was because of his movement that we had those chance in the first place at the home of one of the best teams in the country, after we've just struggled to create that many chances in 180 minutes against the two worst teams in the country. Plus he has that James Beattie style knack of ending up in the right place at the right time to tuck the ball away. With any other striker in the side, we'd have lost very meekly.
He has to start every game now until the end of the season.

If Mame is fit he plays it's as simple as that. He's far and away our best striker. His pace and penertration are absolutely vital to the system we play. If anyone else plays we look far too pedestrian.

When mama plays we create chances. When he doesn't, we invariably don't.
He isn't perfect but he's the best we've got.

You could see he was absolutely furious with himself when he misses those two chances in the first half.
He gives us a lot more up top than anyone else we've got in the squad imo, and hopefully now he can get a run in the first team until the end of the season.
It's the acceleration and runs he makes to get behind defenders, especially with Imbula playing him through the middle, and Arnie and Shaq from out wide
