Great 3 points, but we just struggle to break teams down who come for a draw. Second half tonight we just ran out of ideas until Shaq sorted it. Crap performance but we won, maybe it's a sign of the times that we are regarded as being so much better than NUFC. We have come a long way from having a muddy arse on the grassy bank at Wigan. UTP.

I thought we started the game brilliantly and thought we were going to murder them.
It soon petered out to nothing but you have to take the horrendous conditions into account tonight.
We won. 9 points from 9 and the gravity crocodile is nowhere to be seen.
Come to think of it, there has been no sign of Benjaminbiscuit since the Everton game.

the gravity crocodile is nowhere to be seen. Rumoured to have been blown away in the gale. Might return in October?

Earlier on in the season we were losing to teams that came and parked the bus.
Might not have been pretty but it's a drastic improvement compared to the Watford game.

Its pretty much the same every time a team sits back against us, nothing to do with the conditions.

Benj or some other tool will no doubt be back in September to let us know how shit we are and how we won't get 20 pts by Christmas and how Arnie doesn't track back and how we will be relegated by March (unless we get Tone back) and how the DNA is gone... etc... etc...

"but me no buts"
We have beaten 2 teams who have come for a point, put the ball in the box loads of times, had a number of near misses, and played in lousy conditions tonight.
Against Chelsea we will have a chance to play a game where the opponents want to play to win.

If a team does play to just win a point, shouldn't they be harder to break down, if that is their game plan ? I thought stoke supporters should understand that more than any other fans in the league. No team is easy to beat. I'm glad of the three points.

But they came for a point and we got 3. It wasn't pretty, but plenty of players tried to put their mark on the game. I take the past two games as an improvement, because we've lost to the lesser teams frequently. If we can win ugly here and win wonderfully against a resurgent Chelsea, the season will be gold.

No team is easy to beat. I'm glad of the three points. You've both summarized the game perfectly. There doesn't have to be any negative connotations to it. What I saw we absolutely battered them, a team here for a draw with individuals who didn't look like they didn't really want the ball. Time wasting, spoiling, feigning and fouling. Their few chances came largely from desperation, all teams will have a spell. We mullered them and some of the stuff from our lads was breathtaking. Geoff, The Wolfman, Arnie, AFELLAY, Shaqiri, Muniesa, Jack, even SJW ramraiding Shelvey all got me out of me seat. World Class stuff. While sad to see Bardsley depart, to see Cameron stroll confidently over to RB was a great moment. I thought Muniesa equipped himself really well and that defence was tough enough. Didn't know Mitrovic was on the pitch. Gives us a free run at Chelsea, turning that trio of 3-0 calamities around; three wins and players still expecting more from each other is a great place to be. Still on the rails, poised to strike, the run in for the Europa spots.

I don't think Walters offered much tonight and one of the big problems is he is the only man in the box, I think affelay needs to get nearer to him and also if shaqiri has the ball then arnie should be darting into the middle and same if arnie has the ball, its just to simple for teams to mark the lone striker out of the game

A few seasons ago Man U played poorly virtually all season but kept scrapping narrow results. They went on to win the leauge.
Sometimes you have to accept that to win ugly and get the points from time to time is far better than the alternative.
Still think we will give somebody a good hiding before the season ends.

Dreadful game if football last night, but no blame is to be attached on the players, the conditions were atrocious.

Two moments of magic from Shaqiri and Butland saved us from embarrassment. Performance was awful tonight. Again. Saved so from embarrassment?? It would have been 2 points dropped on a night where conditions spoilt the game. Embarrassment is losing v blythe Spartans not another premiership team fighting to stay up. Unbelievable comments mate they really are, I give up with some people. Well done Stoke and Shaq

10 men behind the ball and shit weather conditions. It was never going to be a classic was it? 3 points gained and 5 years ago I would imagine we would of lost that game !!

Two moments of magic from Shaqiri and Butland saved us from embarrassment. Performance was awful tonight. Again. Embarrassment? Come on, that's just silly. Poor game in absolutely shocking conditions but we found the quality to win. Oh, and 7th in the table!!! This, with knobs on!! Quick Q & A session. Was I being unrealistic to think Stoke would just need to turn up and wallop Newcastle 3-0 easy-peasy like? Yes. Was I frustrated by The Toon's 11 man behind the ball tactics? Yes. Was I frustrated by our inability to break through? Yes. Were the conditions conducive to a free flowing game? No. Do I need to show a bit more patience over the 90 minutes when playing against sides that are scrapping for their Premier League lives? Yes. Are we having a good season despite suffering long term injuries in key areas? Yes. Are these the best times I've seen since the early / mid 70's? Yes. Are Stoke City FC the greatest football team the world has ever seen? Yes. Thank you.

Personally I think we should start building a wicker man in readiness. I think 'some' among 'us' still have a hankering for 'the other chap' and can't wait to stick the boot in any time anything doesn't go the way they think it should. Only natural I suppose given the grief their hero got when he was in charge, I find it hilarious at times.
