I honestly cannot remember my first home game. Mine was also around '88/89.
First away game was a 0-0 at Wolves, Derek Statham missed a penalty. Shat myself as there was quite a bit of grief in and around the ground. Not surprisingly, no video!

From the 6-0, always remember us doing the conga at 5-0 down. No wonder the 4-4 stuck in your head more

Can't remember my first home game because I was too little Can't remember my first away game because I've got a brain like a sieve Coventry in the FA Cup is the first game I have a real concrete memory of, but I know it wasn't the first I went to

My first home game was the roofless Butler Street postponed FA Cup replay against Tottenham on Satdee 24 January 1976. We won 2-1 (Moores, Salmons pen) My first away game was prior to this and would have been at one of the London grounds (probably Spurs?) around 1974/75, before my parents allowed me to travel up Midlands. My first neutral venue game, aged 11, was the LCF against Chelsea in March 1972. I seem to remember we won 1-2 ?

As someone has already suggested video hadn't been invented when I first went to see those Mighty Potters.
In fact Match of The Day was only just about to start out on BBC when I first went.

Very first game was 63/64 lost, 0-1 at home to Notts Forest. Started going regularly in 68/69. Lost a league cup replay to Blackburn 0-1 First away game was Derby in 69/70, 0-0 Strangely there is no video evidence

Dad took me first home game 1958, all I remember was the slag pile we had to stand that was the stoke end. I wasn't realy bothered about footy those days, only playing it. 1966 when I started supporting stoke, how much have I spent.

First game I ever want to I want to say was like a 3-1 loss to Bolton. No idea if it was home or away now, first prem season maybe? Wasn't a football or Stoke fan at the time. Edit: First one was actually an away when I was very small, in the championship, Derby played Stoke and I think we won 1-0 maybe? I went with some friends trying to groom me to be a Derby fan and I was difficult and supported the opposition team for the sake of it. Dick move really but I was about 8 or 9 in my defence

Videos did not exist in '78/9.
And they say that the average age of the Stoke fan coming down is a good thing? Sheesh.

First home, absolutely no idea because my nan started taking me to occasional home matches when I was about 3/4. I can vividly remember from one of those early games being bored shitless, asking who was winning and then after being told it was the other team proclaiming I support them. I can also remember looking at the Boothen End once in the early years and being impressed that it was all Stoke supporters. The concept of home and away team wasn't quite there in my head, it came as quite a shock when it suddenly dawned on me one day that we weren't the biggest club in the world and there are actually some clubs with as many, maybe even more supporters than Stoke City FC. First away game was the 0-1 win at Coventry (Highfield Road) in 2003 as we edged towards survival. Iwelumo "scored" a penalty that was more an own goal by the keeper as it came off the right hand post, bounced onto the sprawled out keeper's back and then into the net. Mark Crossley pulled off some fantastic saves to secure the massive win.

Early 50s. I think it was Notts County that Stoke beat 6-1 with Ozzy Oscroft banging in a van-bastenesque volley and Spider Kelly nodding in a frank bowyer free kick that rebounded off the bar. Away. Not sure. It was either the Dennis Wilshaw breaking his leg match, I think at Roker Park, (lost 3, or 4-1) or, it could have been at Notts Forest where we lost 4-1 having led 1-0 at half time. Memory gets a big fuzzy at 70!

Away: Wigan 1-2 Stoke City, almost 16 years to the day.
