Seems to me that there are very few, if any posters who would go back to our former manager. The vast majority, myself, Momo, Malcolm and Mutts in the last few pages have all acknowledged the brilliant job MH has done, the better football to watch, the fantastic players and better team we now have. We've also praised PC for such an astute and brave change of direction for the club. But we also the appreciate the job Tony did in getting us to that point. What is frustrating and hard to understand is the hardcore few who cannot acknowledge anything good about TP, or even admit to enjoying those fantastic years as we went from the Championship to an established Premier League Club. That's what a lot of supporters can't understand. But thats bollocks though. Name me 4 posters who refuse to acknowledge anything good TP did? Even the absolute hair splitting mentalists gave him some credit! What you really can't understand is why he wasn't universally loved! Go on admit that is what you really can't understand! H

Amazingly they've now taken 7 points out of the last 9 when just a couple of weeks a go they wanted him out.He always seems to pull results out of the bag when needed That's the thing with him that is so frustrating and annoying about his management. He waits until things got really ugly at Reading ,then he had little choice but to actually pick his best attacking players. He has previous for it too. Interesting how long he will carry on like this before reverting back to type.

I honestly think there were quite a few bruised egos on here from folks who said after Stoke he would never get another job in the top flight again. When he then went to Palace and waltzed off with the Premier League "Manager of the season award" 6 months later it just struck a raw nerve with some people and who likes looking silly right? I am sure once he is out of the game and no longer plying his trade at any of our competitors he will enjoy the full recognition due from all. He’ll still be proving some of the daft bastards on here wrong when he’s 6 foot under.

H You really could claim quite the opposite though couldn’t you judging by the screaming ab-dabs we had on here when some wanted to clap him before the first game he played us after his sacking. If anyone, it’s them that ‘don’t get it’.

H The wankstains had to give him 'some' credit or otherwise they would have looked even more stupid than they did. These are the kind of people that would refuse to sing his name or understand why there might be any kind of goodwill for him when he returned. As a point of correction from your previous posts the part that I hated most about TP's reign was not the binary season but the 3-5-2 portion of the immediate season after he saved us. I could always see the method of 4411 but never the 532....no wonder he eventually switched for me I wasn't best pleased with the Valencia selection - you are correct there - but it was quickly forgotten once we beat a Swansea team that the wankstains would drool over..... (Hope you are well)

Thanks for clearing that up. I'm fine thanks mate, did I hear right that you are in the USA now? H

I very nearly added in parentheses (except Mark W) I don't really understand why everyone cannot just celebrate the fact that we chose the right manager not once but twice in a row. The arch-pragmatist to dig us out of the Championship and back to the promised land and keep us there in those difficult early seasons and then a man with a more expansive style to push us on. Mark Hughes himself was quick to pay tribute to what he found when he got here he spoke of 'players who know how to win Premier league games' if I remember right and in fact he contrasted that with the shower of ridiculous fancy Dans he inherited at QPR which went to the heart of his problems there. He liked what he found at Stoke and he was gracious enough to acknowledge it.

H Barely though...usually along the lines of 'he got us up - but he did have more money than any other stoke manager previous' - always feint and begrudging praise yep, over here with work...all good so far...get to see Stoke easily for all weekend games on TV - will watch todays game when i get in from work.
