You could knock one if those corners up over a weekend. And it'll look way better than it does now. It wouldn't though, that concrete wall looks awful. I'd far rather have the TV cameras be able to pan around views of the Matthews statue and the city of Stoke-on-Trent than that. The football club and the city together in unison or a wall made out of breeze blocks? I do prefer the way that Derby have done it for example, but I've always been of the opinion that the current 'big screen' corner looks terrible, looking out towards car dealerships, a spindly tree, and a load of people watching the game 'for free' from the bank. The St John's Ambulance corner isn't much better. Given the choice of being 'at one' with the City (which we kind of gave up anyway, when we moved out of Stoke & to the barren wastelands of Trentham Lakes) - or having a ground that doesn't look like we started it, and then ran out of funds - I'd take the latter.

If the corners are to be filled with windbreaks ala west Bromwich, then how about a giant high resolution photograph of the old Boothen crowd on one (next to the new boothen) and a collage of stoke legends down the years on the tunnel club shop one???

This is my take on the subject, I would imagine that at the time of submitting planning permission for the scoreboard corner, the informal discussion between the council and the club would have factored in the need for an upgrade in the local access roads etc. I would imagine that the club would have to invest millions to add additional access exit roads and this would make the cost unviable. I remember at the time Darlington built a fantastic stadium but the council blocked them from opening stands because of access. So although planning permission and the footings already in place, the risk of not being able to use that capacity would make it an expensive vanity project. Before we go adding seats I would much prefer the club to look at the existing facilities, IMHO it is much more important to look at extending the concourse areas outwards to create more room. At the time of construction I doubt anyone would have thought that we would hit capacity on a regular basis.

I just don't think the support warrants it and the cup crowds are show that imo. What the roaring cattle flange has that got to do with anything? We play what, probably a maximum of six cup games at home a year? The league is bread and butter and consistent sell ots or near sell outs demonstrate a jusification, not some bollocks non-argument about bastard fucking cup games. Ludicrous.

Ive been vocal about filing the corners in at the existing stadium however - if its decided to move us somewhere else, just south of Warrington would be great
