Today highlighted the difference between a good stadium that lends itself to good football, and one that has all 4 corner flags blowing in different directions, we are bringing good players here and they have to put up with these terrible conditions, once upon a time when Rory's corners were causing havoc in the wind it suited our long ball play. This unfinished football ground, resembling an abandoned airfield is in URGENT need of attention, why top notch players would want to play here is beyond me.

I get your point and agree totally but 70k a week normally resolves such issues!

Correct. The owners should be ashamed that people who paid good money had to leave their seats because of the wind and rain.

I think our board should sit on the front row for a few weeks. They should also ask our players if they like our corners open. Ours is a ground, not a stadium.

Large parts of the ground were effectively roofless today. Premier league my arse.

Well we could have stuck with the team without Imbula and built a new stadium as it only cast 14.7 million , change enough for a half decent CB as well =)

Unless the stadium has a roof on it your gong to get wet no matter how many corners it has, deal with it.
As for the players what about our forces who get paid a fraction of the modern day footballer and has to battle on either stupidly hot weather or crazy cold weather, I don't care if our players are cold, wet, hot or hungry I only care if they give 100%.

We often have a few tickets free because the only ones left are in the front rows. There is no shelter from the elements. The stadium is an embarrassment and the worst one in the premier league

I've had a leak on my seat now going back to the Watford game at home.
I sit on row 25 of the DPD stand and every time it rains I have to spend 5 minutes wiping it dry and have to sit with a drip smacking me on my bonce every 2 seconds for 90 minutes.
Twice I've contacted the club and twice I've been fobbed off by our Supporters liaison officer, Anthony Emmerson.
At times this club couldn't give two hoots about their supporters.

I didn't think Everton were anything special. Defended well (although we didn't take much stopping) and had a couple of decent breaks but aside from that, I didn't see much that impressed me. That's an indication of how poor we were today, but let's not try to pretend Everton looked like Barcelona. Barkley's a decent player, but most of what they do revolves around lumping it up to Lukaku. They're not massively dissimilar to Fuller-era Stoke.

Pretty much the same can be said for the Man U game...........we allowed them to look good by being extremely poor in both attack and defence.

We are becoming right snobs, getting wet at football games is nothing unusual,if you have been Man City or Arsenal on a wet day they have waterproofs on,god help any of you if they brought open ends back. Man up some of you sound as soft as our team.If we keep the last months performances up there will be plenty of room again so no one will have to get wet.

Unless you have roofs that overhang by about 10meters you will always get wet at the front, the one advantage of watching Stoke in the championship and below was we could choose our season tickets and they were not on the front rows.

Large parts of the ground were effectively roofless today. Premier league my arse. I sat on row 27 at the Boothen End, quite a good way back, and while I wasn't affected by the driving rain like those at the front at the front, I got soaked from drips from the roof. Please Stoke, fill the corners in, as at the moment we seem like a poverty stricken newcomer to the Prem, with no money to spend.

Our ground is shit.
As someone's said - it's probably the most half-arsed looking of all the Prem stadia.

I think if we had faced the Boothen End first half it would have been different.
The weather had a massive impact on the game which Everton exploited. They were better than us and deserved their lead but not 3-0.
This ethos of teams hating coming here because of the elements is no more than a test of character to them now which most pass, so it doesn't work.
So fill the corners in!!

I think if we had faced the Boothen End first half it would have been different. The weather had a massive impact on the game I said exactly this - if we won the toss we should have turned it round and tried to gain an early advantage........5 seasons ago it was all about whether "they" could do it on a wet Tuesday night at Stoke.........now Stoke can't do it on a wet Saturday in Stoke........ The ground is god awful by modern day standards I have to agree..........but can't see it changing in the next 5.....
