Who do we sign as a back up to Arnie or Shaq who would be happy on the bench and who wouldn't weaken us massively when either of the above are injured or out of form? Hasn't Hughes already stated that he is looking for players that will improve the starting eleven? So what's the answer, do nowt and have nobody? It's a squad game these days so they'd get plenty of minutes, especially as both Arnie and Shaq regularly have niggles and strains. Any player worth his salt is going to back themselves and they'll also know if they do well they'll inherit the shirt if and when one of the mainstays is sold. Leicester have wingers coming out of their arse so it's hardly mission impossible. I think people are getting a little carried away here. You don't spend £12m on a winger and then spend another £5m on a player in case he gets injured especially when there's already 3/4 players who can do a job there.

I think I would rather have Redmond than Gray. Bit of a price hike though...

Getting the right players in is obviously of utmost importance to Hughes, and whilst I agree that we look light out in the wide positions I don't want to see us just bringing in "back up" players when in truth it's doubtful that they wold be any better than our current "back up" players. I'm not including Diouff as one of our current back ups by the way

Long term of course it would because you can do it over time. Last January we let Assaidi go. From then we've had only 2 wingers. That's not really good enough. Whats not really good enough? Are you saying we've struggled since Assaidi left? I think we've played well a handful of times and the rest of the time we've been ok. We could be better, this would help.

Demari Gray who hasn't done anything to prove that he will make it in this division you mean? God forbid you sign a young player with the attributes you need to develop. He's been at Leicester for 2 minutes!

At the minute we have two specialist wingers, and considering our whole play relies so heaving on our side players it's imperative we have a third to help take the pressure off. As for players being available there's plenty of young talented wingers about that I'm sure would of loved to learn their trade here. G

What you're saying though is that we should have signed him as back up to our current first team wide men, and that when he deputised for them he wouldn't weaken us as massively as say John Walters would. In my opinion you simply can't say that, and he might be nowhere near ready for regular first team football in this division,it's not as black and white as you like to make out. Our management team have earned our trust and Rome wasn't built in a day, have a bit of faith man

It's ridiculous we haven't got a third winger for the 3rd consecutive winger when everyone around us has decent depth in the position.

Who currently provides width in our games? Certainly Arnautovic and Shaqiri and then of course Hughes likes Johnson and Pieters to get forward as much as possible in build up play. In my mind first choice there are no immediate problems with getting width! As back up, especially with Imbula arriving, we have Affelay who would perhaps do a better job than Shaqiri at the moment. On top of this we also have Walters who is a wide player who will track back. On the horizon we have acquired wide players for the development squad who we may well see come the last few games. IMO we are adequately serviced with width till the summer but even then we would only move if someone outstanding became available. I cannot understand what anyone is worrying about!

Given the circumstances at the moment though I'm prepared to give the management team the benefit of the doubt and I reckon we can manage for the rest of this season without panic buying. We have a squad to be proud of even though it has its limitations, but one thing is for certain,it's going to get stronger and stronger but it takes time.

It's not even necessarily about being as good but we could do with someone fast and direct to offer something different. I don't see the players we have other than the main two creating much or posing much threat from the wings. And given how important the wide positions are in our attacking play that's a problem.

I think we'd have been linked to at least one or two pretty publicly if one had been a priority, as we were in the positions we did look to strengthen.
