Hughes made a mistake by playing him so often at the start of the season when he clearly isn't good enough for the Premier League.

Really liked him to be honest, even at the start of the season he still impressed me. Sad to see him go but you can't argue with the signing of Imbula and I'm one of Charlie Adam's biggest fans.

As I predicted about 3 or 4 months ago he will never be a Premier League player and will end up back in the Eredivisie which is WAY less physical. Its happened sooner than I imagined, we wont see him back in the Prem for chelsea or anyone. Doesnt cut the mustard and offered sweet FA. Im with Bayern on this one

Best of luck to him. There's a very intelligent player in there.

He was my least favourite player in his time here. You have to really want it to be a premier league player and sadly he didn't. I can't imagine him giving imbula 'a little kick' just because he's playing well. He was just too laid back

Hughes made a mistake by playing him so often at the start of the season when he clearly isn't good enough for the Premier League. He made a mistake signing him in the first place carrot deal to sweeten the Bego transfer, never good enough to fill Zonzi's place, showed little while he was h.

It's a shame for Rip Van Winkle I thought he was beginning to mature into a decent player.

Thought he was starting to look pretty good as a midfield option. Quite surprised at the move.

He was a post width away from being a bit of a Stoke legend

Maybe he would have been a good signing given time but just how long do you give a loan signing to make an impression ? Half a season it would seem and as there weren't really any sign that he was getting to grips with the league nor his role in the team I reckon Hughes made the right decision

He'll mature as a player and feature in European competition.
That is a certainty.

Sad to see him go...top bloke and a decent player.
However, in Hughes I trust....
Good to luck to him and I hope he does magnificently wherever else he goes.

Really! the manager let him go half way his loan period, the manager has given him ample opportunity to prove himself to his parent club us and other PL clubs at our expense, the fact he has gone speaks volumes the miss the other week just about sealed his fate.

While I'd say it was a decent chance I wouldn't class it as a sitter by any stretch of the imagination. He got a tug as he went through. Ordinarily I'd say he should have gone down but Jon Moss wouldn't have awarded a penalty in a million years.

Nine games for PSV six goals FFS we've dropped a right bollock by letting him go! He sounds like the next Alfonso Alves

There's probably a similar discussion going on the FC Porto mb arguing about why they let Imbula go. Sometimes it just doesn't work out at one club but then does at another.

I still think we should have persevered. The guy was improving by the end But was he happy with the amount of game time he was getting? With Imbula coming in, he would have got even less.

Had the brain to break from midfield into the right areas to be a goal threat. He was ace at it.
Very much a dynamic "pick up ball, move it fast, create something" rather than one to retain possession. A nice bit of kick and rush, was quite fun to watch.
Hopefully he progresses on from this season.

I love big Mama but even he would bang in the goals in the Dutch league. It's up there with the SPL for an attackers paradise.
