No Given, Bardsley, Cameron or Ireland through injury. Pretty much ruled out starting Haugaard and said he won't be throwing 5-6 kiddies in. It'll be a team of internationals.

Can we have this at the top now please or do we need to do a bit more 'grieving' over a tie that still has 90/minutes left to play ? I wondered when you would spend time discussing the impending game with the minnows .

Need to rest the front 3, will be really depressing if not especially Norwich game midweek.

Be nice not to go through Luton-type traumas. I think Shawcross needs to play - we need the leadership and stability.

I'd give that Moha a flying winger from a Barca a run in this. Looked pretty good pre season and in Cologne. Been quite poor for the U-21's but getting better. Was good at the Arsenal U21 game at Boreham Wood FC. Terrific pace and skill, but loooks a slim lad who might need muscling up to deal with the PL.

I don't mind Donny, their fans seem a decent bunch but we should beat them with the squad we have, they will be up for it and if we are not careful it could be a banana skin. I'd like to think we'd give them respect but beat them safely 2 or 3-0 but I've got that feeling that they will score at least 1. My head says a close fought 2-1 win to us but my heart says 3-0 to us. My team for the game would be: Butland
Phil Marc Ryan Eric
Sidwell MVG
Walters Ireland Arnie so we can persuade him to stay by 4000+ stokies telling him we want him to stay

Thanks for posting. Does anyone else struggle to hear the questions on these press conferences. You'd think that these media types would learn to speak loudly, clearly and with correct annunciation. Instead we get a bunch of chummy mumblers.

Looks like Diouf is in. Stoke City: Mark Hughes - Mame Diouf's been unlucky ... he'll give me food for thought at Doncaster MARK Hughes expects Mame Diouf to give him food for thought about more regular action when he is involved again in Stoke's first team tomorrow. Diouf has not started a league game since Stoke won 1-0 at Aston Villa back in October and has not even been on the bench in the last two matches. Hughes said the 28-year-old has had a minor groin problem – but admitted his recent omission has been more of a tactical call. The Senegal forward is back in the frame to start in the FA Cup third round at Doncaster, however, along with Joselu, Jon Walters and Peter Crouch. Hughes said: "Mame has had a slight problem with his groin which we checked out. It's not something we thought would affect him but it was important for his peace of mind. It came back reasonably clear; something could work with. "He's very much in my thoughts for this weekend and no doubt he will give me food for thought for further games. "He's been a bit unlucky. I've gone with different personnel on the bench in the last couple of games to give me different options. "Joselu has come in to good effect, scored his first goal and I thought I needed to give him game time. I wanted Peter Crouch in case we needed to go long later in the game." Diouf was top of Hughes's pecking order for strikers at the start of the season and was a run of 10 goals in 21 games when he was given compassionate leave after his mother died three months ago. He has since started the Capital One Cup win over Chelsea but has otherwise been restricted to sub appearances and an outing for the under-21s. The manager's move to a false nine formation has not helped his cause but it could be a more traditional formation on view at the Keepmoat Stadium. m.stokesentinel.co.uk/Stoke-City-Mark-Hughes-Mame-Diouf-s-unlucky-ll/story-28480879-detail/story.html Read more: eighteensixtythree.proboards.com/thread/10360/diouf#ixzz3wegLmqt6

I always have a bad feeling about early rounds of the cup, away at lower league opposition.
They are in good form and will be right up for it. I know we need to rest players, but playing a scratch side is a risk.
We ain't going to finish top 4, but with a little luck can do well in the FA Cup. Blackburn was the most disappointing result last season.
I think I would rather rest players against Norwich and make sure we get through this tricky tie.
I'm sure MH will pick a side that can do the job.

I don't mean any disrespect to them but rather pointing out the fact that our back up players are still premier league standard. Of course it isn't always that straight forward...

Are you guys goal-crazy at both ends under Ferguson or was that just a trait of his Peterborough side?

The better players theory is true, but a scratch side made up of a collection of squad players pulled together for a one off game might struggle against a team with a real understanding.
