Top 6 is a stretch!
With quite a few new faces and still developing into a new style - this could and still may be a very transitional season. Top half would still be a great success.

If you graded the areas of Stoke then you would say
Playing side of club = 9/10 Academy side of club = 7/10 Training side of club = 10/10 Ticket Pricing = 10/10
then we have
Stadium = 2/10 Match Day experience = 4/10 Merchandise = 3/10
It needs to catch up

I'd be curious to see what Stoke would do to up their game (away from the pitch) if we miraculously finished in 6th position, in terms of the matchday experience plus stadium tinkering. We'd be on the up if we did, but that's not to say that 8th/9th would be a failure - far from it. It's just that I can't predict at all how positions 5-10 will end in in May. Wet Sham, Southampton, us, Palace, Everton and even Liverpool are so difficult to read on a long-term basis.

I'd be giving around the 7 mark for each. It's not perfect, the lack of corners stops it being so but I love my days out to Stoke matches, and what's wrong with the merchandise? Very exaggerated scores, if it was that poor you wouldn't be going

Its bloody freezing on top of a hill and the roads cant manage the supporters leaving in cars. I cant really think of a regular Premier League team with a worst ground than us. The merchandise quality is fine but we are so far behind in selling our shirts abroad and getting the Stoke brand out there, outside of Stoke-on-Trent and surroundings. It doesnt affect me one bit but the marketing department is still stuck in 19th Century. Its not rocket science to improve it and is relative peanuts compared to the investments made elsewhere in the club. That will build the supporter base for the future generations

If I was Peter Coates for a day.... PC - "Tony, come see me in my office" TS - "yes Peter" PC - "Tony, we're dripping in money, Sparky is performing miracles, and we're coining it in. I want to fill in the corner in the summer" TS - "hmmmm not sure Peter" PC - "why?" TS - "not sure we can sell the extra tickets" PC - "you're fired"

Its almost as if the Board is expecting us to get relegated and so we dont want to increase the capacity because we will have an empty ground when that happens.
If we grew the average attendances it ensures that we have a greater income in the eventuality we do get relegated. The fact that Leeds, Forest can still attract 30k supporters means they are always better positioned to be promoted back to the Prem.

Whelan is the latest saying we can finish top 6. It seems that the manager and players have higher ambitions than half of the supporters on the oatcake ;) We can do it come on Stoke Barring a bad run of injuries I think you're right, this team/squad is capable of great things, wonderful time to be a Stokie.

The fact that Leeds, Forest can still attract 30k supporters means they are always better positioned to be promoted back to the Prem. I keep seeing people stating (as a fact) that Forest attract 30,000. Their attendance this season has been around 20,000 and the most they had is about 25,000 against the Sheep Shaggers. Very good for a below average championship team but nowhere near 30,000. On a related matter, has anyone done an ROI on the benefit of filling in the corners? Gross income might be 35(/ticket) x 25 (matches) x 3000 (seats) x 75% (occupancy) = 2 million.

I'm currently thinking of top half, let alone top 6. It's too early to start assessing where you'll finish.
If we do better than the last two seasons then it'll be a great one.
