He got a chance really out of the blue to impress and he completely blew it. His technique was just awful for his shot at an open goal. He looked like a donkey defender the way he swung his left peg at it. Cost us 2 points today theres no other way of looking at it. Even if he was able to strike the ball cleaner there was a lot of traffic down there. He may not have scored either way. Can't say he cost us two points. He can, he's had it in for him since he signed.

The fact he was selected today suggests he is Going to get some game time over the next month or so . No chance we will let him go , suggest the Time a decision will be made is march april so patience and support is the order of the day.

He is OK cover but I would not play him in midfield ahead of Whelan, Cameron, Affelay(who has shown he is way more effective in midfield than further forward or out wide), or Adam. For me there was no starting place for him yesterday.
He may mature into a decent player at this level, but I really don't think it is going to be this year.

I admire your faith, he's been shit, again. I lost faith in Afellay and Johnson upon arrival and they made me look fucking stupid. I've learned not to judge so quickly anymore. He'll be back. You are right ,if he had scored that goal some on here would be saying he's the Nzonzi replacement ,he missed and is now shit.He is 23 had a cruciate ligament injury and only played 124 pro games and some on here want to fuck him off.Well said about Afellay and Johnson ,as some would not admit they have been wrong.

In my opinion, he has had more than enough opportunities to show glimpses of what he may be capable of, but I have seen nothing to be honest. If he was our own player, then I could understand in persevering but as he is not, I don't see the point when we have other options in his position or could well uncover better prospects in the Jan window. We all live for today and there is only so much "patience and support" you can give to any player with so much pressure on the management team to continuously improve. I don't really see what his unique selling points are? Normally with any player, you can say that he is one of a good tackler, passer, goal scorer, freekick specialist, etc, but I cannot say that I am any the wiser about the particular attributes of MVG.

Falls into the "Palacios" category for me sadly, in that I expected he'd be perfect for us but as it transpires it's not worked out, unless there's a sudden drastic turnaround I can see us terminating the loan in January, shame really as I remember him being a real box-to-box player, maybe that knee injury has knackered his confidence.

Whether MVG makes it here or not remains to be seen.
He clearly isn't going to be in the managers first choice 11 but with games coming up thick and fast he will get another chance.
What I will never understand though is the mentality of some of our supporters.
Player misses easy chance =he is wank, get rid.
I wonder if Everton fans are saying the same this morning about Lakaku?

I can see a very decent player buried under layers of disappointments / injuries / misfortunes he's had since joining Chelsea
Couldn't have been easy on him
If there's one place in the world where he can kick start his career after all the setbacks he's had it has to be Stoke city
Just needs one spark to get the fans on his side and maybe, just maybe, we'd have a very good player in our hands
even though he is owned by Chelsea can't sene him ever making it there so if does manage to impress he re and we sign him on a perm it's his one big final chance
It's last chance saloon for MVG

On the evidence we have seen so far he looks miles away from being a Zonz replacement, offers very little does not belong to us no point in keeping him here, given we are paying his over inflated wages would be best to cut our losses as soon as possible. He was always a gamble he has not paid off simple as that really.

There's a 'showreel' thing of MVG against Liverpool on the opening day in the 'Potters, Pictures & Videos' section. Good watch.

Let's face it, the big German has made you look a tool and so will MvG given games. Let's write 'em all off before they've played 10 minutes shall we lads? Thick as fuck.

Because he did his ligaments a couple of months into his first season? Is that why Hughes is not playing him on a regular basis then ?

Because he did his ligaments a couple of months into his first season? Is that why Hughes is not playing him on a regular basis then ? No. But you were implying he hasn't played much since he arrived here because of a lack of ability. That isn't the case. There's every chance he'll come good.

Another? He's hardly had a good one yet! He's still sitting on a man of the man award from the opening day. How's Wollscheid done today? Man of the man, eh? Does this mean he has two "y" chromosomes?

Do you think that it is by coincidence that Wolfy has improved since Ryan came back ?, he was awful prior to Ryan's return and is still prone to mistakes, how are you assessing the future of MvG at Stoke ?, on the evidence we have seen and the lack of game time he has had recently I would suggest that the management team have reservations, maybe they are as thick as fuck as well you tool

He was no where near awful so stop making shit up. I'm basing my thoughts on MvG on 1. the manager rates him, 2. he's been capped at all levels by the Netherlands 3. after he got over a SERIOUS injury he played consistently for AC Milan 4. Chelsea obviously saw something in him and finally 5. you slag him off so he's obviously a player. Give him games and he'll come good.

He's going to get minutes now with Geoff out hurt and Adam possibly suspended while in wonderland mentally. Can't say he hasn't had the opportunities... He needs to get stuck in and battle in the middle and were going to need him to step up and do just that in the coming fixtures. Now or never. He's got to focus.
