Laughing unless you witness the game in full its hard to explain what you see .I see a team not progressing from last year and unless someone takes responsibility to have a go and at least shoot on target then we will not progress.Hughes plays 2 so called wingers but the delivery of both is poor their best skill is to cut inside and shoot something they seem to have forgotten Mate it's too late to properly respond to such arse gravy so I'm off to bed happy with the point we got today.

fans have a right to be fucking sick of the way we're playing at the moment, 6 hour round trip and we get fuck all apart from a clap at the end that's it, it's easy for some fans who dont make the trip to slag of a fan for slating the way the lads play. What do you expect. Should they join you for a cigar and brandy and discuss the game? Perhaps hand out kebabs before you get on the coach? A complimentary SCFC hot towel to freshen you up after your off field exertions? Modern football fans. Clowns.

I had a good day, if not one of the best.
Lots of creative play by Stoke in the first half without the necessary goal, JW missed a sitter when he was clean through.
Second half was all about one of the best displays of goal keeping I have witnessed, and I spent many years watching Banks.
So much today was reminiscent of the 67-68 season; too much "fannying about" with the ball, with Eastham, Vernon, Dobing, and Burrows passing the ball around the penalty area, and no focal striker/centre forward, and a goal-keeper keeping us in the match. Herd wasn't the answer, Ritchie was, and we became a great team with the addition of Greenhoff.

Stateside I can understand where you are coming from but I've been watching live games for over 37 years you can see a lot more from inside a ground than in front of a screen and again I will say its easy to say well that's a good point when I've spent over 100 pounds coming of my arse and travelling but truth is it was poor

Understand where you are coming from, I normally take my lad to a couple of away games every season on top of the home games and the days have normally been decent all in. Some of the other lads on this thread are suggesting that it was not as bad a day as you are making out? After mid week's exertions I would have taken a point all day long. I respect your opinion, I'm happy with a point at St James, its a tough place to go, it's just the manner in which we went about it mate, lets be honest Jack kept us in the game and it's worrying to think we're we'd be without him. Fair point. For me one massive positive is obviously seeing Ryan working his way back into the heart of our defence and have always loved clean sheets. I agree that we didn't threaten their goal much today; pity Diouf wasn't used off the bench for a short spell. We always look far more dangerous up front when he is on the pitch.

I see talented entertaining players. Some trying to bed in and figure it out. Maybe we'll be 7th-14th, maybe a semi or two, maybe a final. Who knows. All I know is it's better and more interesting than we've seen for decades. And we've never had it so good. So you only got a clap off the players. Boo hoo. Maybe they were frustrated, pissed off, felt they'd let you down. Maybe worn out from midweek (jn at least 2 if not 3 cases out there today). "Against modern whining snivelling self pitying football fans"

If you think that was a shocking day out you've not been following Stoke long. Fucks sake. Some right fucking shite hawks follow our team these days. Try getting soaked to the skin on an open terrace watching us get a right thumping. Today is nowhere close. At the risk of sounding like someone who only watched the Pulis years on ceefax, I agree totally with this post. BM

You're just using the "I was there, so your opinion isn't valid" bollocks. For the record, I've also been watching live games for 30+ years, and spent (or in some cases, wasted....but we can leave the past in the past) plenty of money watching Stoke home and away. If you wan't to get into a dick measuring contest, we can talk about the cost of coming over from the States for the Leicester game at the Brit this season, but it's completely fucking irrelevant in the context of having an opinion on the game or the teams performance. Sure, you can see the big picture and maybe take a closer look at individual players off the ball, but there's not much you see at a live game that you don't see from watching live on a screen....in fact, I would argue you sometimes don't see the full picture of some aspects until you've got home and watched the game again. We certainly haven't been at our best yet this season, but we are far from the cluster-fuck that some are claiming. I can't wrap my head around why anyone thinks we have a divine right to be turning teams over week after week in the Premier League without having to grind out some results like today.

We've become boring. I know this will probably descend into old battlegrounds but I don't mean in a complete lack of ambition way that was prevalent under the worst days of Pulis and I also think boring was good today. We were patched up fitness wise, lacking real squad depth and it was a great point but it lacks any real verve.
You look at that advanced middle three of Arnie, Bojan and Shaqiri and it gives you a boner but it's pretty dull stuff, lacking in any penalty area action and every keeper we've played against this year could have had a fag on and dropped his hat on those miniscule shots on target. No keeper has had to play anywhere near like Jack has on countless occasions for us so far this season.
I cant believe for a minute (despite his public statements) that Hughes is particularly happy with how we're playing. I admit to only watching it in the pub but there was some pretty hard core Stokies in there playing cards and switching to horse racing from a pretty early stage.

I hate watching us play for a draw and whilst we weren't wank, we were very disappointing. We were and are a better side than them yet our goalkeeper is man of the match, they were more direct and more dangerous and we wouldn't have scored if we were still playing now. Its all a bit frustrating at the minute in truth.

This.
Arnie, Bojan and Shaqiri were all disappointing today.
But let's not focus on (my) opinions but facts ...
Stoke City have created less goal scoring chances than ANY other team in the Premiership this season and Jack Butland has produced more Man of the Match performances than any other goalkeeper in the Premiership this season.
We are not playing well.

We've been pretty wank all season, why would that change today? But we've been a nice mid table comfortable wank. Which could be worse. But will hopefully be a little bit more top half wank towards the end of the season. Wanktastic. Ish.

Currently we just don't look like scoring in a month of Sunday's and we're still a brainfart away from conceding. It just doesn't sit well with me.

The performance today had no more merit than plenty of other efforts in that stadium in the past 10 years, I'm afraid. The performance when we got hammered under Hughes in 'The Martin Atkinson' show a couple of years ago was miles ahead of today. Miles ahead. Great point but we really aren't playing well.
