Said he'd turn good. Just needs minutes. He's got skill on the ball. He looks a useful signing. With the quality we now have in attack, lads such as Joselu will have to take their chances when they come along . Joselu has done himself no harm with that important game changing goal.

Great finish from him for his goal vs Everton. The twist of his body to wrap his boot around the ball and get shit loads of power behind the shot and score from that angle. Very good Joselu, bravo. And just to clarify on the penalty, where Shearer gets "Stones got the ball" from is quite astounding !! He got NONE of the ball and all of Arnie. Sorry pal, but Stones clearly plays the ball. He also wipes Arnie out with his second movement and stops him getting to the ball, hence the penalty is the correct decision.

LMH on Joselu:
I do hope he's starting to settle and realise that chances will come and he needs to take them. He can be a part of something quite special here but he's got to work for it. His performances have been improving game by game though and he's clearly got something about him and offers something different to Bojan, Diouf and SJW.

I think yesterday was a massive learning curve for him. That was proper blood and thunder Premier League football, a million miles away from what he's been used to. He went down on the halfway line like a sack of spuds after being out headded and they scored their 2nd 20 seconds later. He got some 'constructive criticism' from Mark Bowen and then played some good stuff and scored a cracking goal. The way Bojan jumped into his arms like a toddler at the end, really did make me smile.

He's better technically than Diouf but without the pace and workrate.
If the opposition defence is playing a high line then Mame would be my choice as sub.
If they're lying deep then Joselu is better with his back to goal.
We've got good options from the bench to either chase/see out a game as necessary.
I think Hughesy has very cleverly put together a varied attack for all situations...

Someone with long legs that can step over them without treading on them.

I like his technical ability and good for his confidence to get off the mark.
Keep working hard on the training pitch and he will get time on the pitch

He ( Joselu) is a striker born in Germany of Spanish parents and his finish had the power associated with one and the style of the other. It was now a matter of who kept their nerve. It was Stoke. Smashing report and also makes a point of the brilliance of Shaq's goal. No suggestion at all that it was not intended, rather refers to the comparison of Shaq with Messi.

He knew it was in the moment it left his boot. Shaq can't say that

"Until you remember this was the club that gave Stanley Matthews to the world, the thought of Xherdan Shaqiri at Stoke seems rather odd – like watching the man at No 23 pull into his drive with an Aston Martin."

Great strike and he was responsible for creating the possibility of a chance during the build up. Big moment for the lad and hopefully onto more regular appearances and goals.
ps not a good as Shaqs goal though...come on Salop, give Shaq credit for a sublime bit of skill..he said he meant it, so what advantage is there to disbelieving him?

I just think in the context a superb strike aimed and precise. harder to hit it how he did

I just prefer the other one Opinions every one has one. Just because you praise one does not mean you diss another Shaqs was a hell of a lot easier for him. Butland said he does it every day

It was a magnificent strike. Watching it on MOTD only reenforced my initial observation that it was superb goal. Quite agree. What made it particularly outstanding was that Joselu was running AWAY from goal before turning to hit the volley. I've only seen a couple of Press reports commenting on how difficult such an action is. Also would seem to be the reaction of an instinctive striker?

Three great goals yesterday - and an emphatic penalty. Shakey's second caught the eye but the first was a thing of immense beauty and Joselu's was a high quality finish. Very high quality.
As if winning 4-3 away from home wasn't enough we get the opportunity to debate which of three class goals was the classist. Crazy days!

I think you do Shaq a disservice as this implies he can't cross a ball when he wants to... He didn't miss-hit it, look at which part of his foot he connects the ball with and you can clearly see this was an attempt on goal.
