Would be better than walters as the striker, link up play is excellent, bojan, arnie and shaqiri would get more openings with jos there than with walters. His sharpness will come, looks a little leaner than Swansea game. I like him. I would of started him in this one and given Walters a rest. His link up play is Crouchesque. Pity for Crouch though, he looked dejected walking off and I saw he did his groin a bit of trouble early on and was wincing playing for 5 mins before he finally signaled to go off. He gives his all that big lug. Hope he's fit to play a role off the bench soon enough.

It's not the best way to be spending the Chairman's hard earned is it? You've got your second most expensive signing who's a striker, fit, not on the bench and we're the lowest scorers in the league. I'd say quite a lot. Go on then ...

That first touch from Camerons pass was sublime. He did well tonight. He's certainly one for the 2nd half of the season and next season.

Great performance by him tonight. Needs a bit of game time to show us what he can do.

I though as a whole he was good, touch was up there with arnies. However both him an Walters have a quality of not being in the box at the right times. Needs to get in the box. Kept saying the same thing. Thought he was positionally quite poor at times tonight.

Skillful player , wanders about the pitch too much, but definitely has potential .

Hughes will sort him out, this was always going to be a bit part year for him but Crouch won't be around for much longer so I expect he'll get more game time soon.

He's got a great touch and is great at getting involved in the build up but he seems to want to get involved too much, there were several times last night where he'd either dropped deep or was out wide. Rarely was he in a decent position in our box which is where he needs to be in my opinion.

I think he would be good in a front two. He's an old fashioned hold up and wait for the fast little guy man

I liked his hold up play (Mama role ideal!), but for a lad who came here with a reputation for headers etc, he doesnt jump OR attack the ball in the air, needs to add that
However his touch from GCams fantastic ball was sublime and it was a decent save from the goalie

Nice touches but if I'm honest I can't picture him ever scoring a goal for us On the contrary I think he will score goals. Even during his very limited pitch time, off top of my head,he had the chance at Norwich he snatched at,the overhead kick at Swansea and the one last night the keeper kept out.Not to mention he actually got an (admittedly weak )header from a corner. The only thing that bugs me is he has started the last four seasons with a different club !

Wasn't he the player who was fouled for the free kick which Bardsley scored? If so, he had an "assist" for the second goal as well as the first. Two assists in one game isn't bad and he won the penalty in his first appearance for Stoke. I think it may take time but he will make the grade.

John, I think it was Arnie who was fouled for the 2nd, but agree that Yosser Hughes will come good for us

I think he could work if we had a pacey three behind him to break out from his hold up play and flick ons. But I just don't think our current set would do that.

We have a congested fixture list until the end of January and I believe that Hughes will be looking to use the majority of players in our aquad.
Joselu hasn't really had much of a chance to settle, I think he will prove to be a great player for us

I hadn't read it in a report, I was just running over in my mind what I saw from the Boothen. Arnie should win more free kicks and penalties than he does - when he is on song it often takes a foul to stop him.

One of the problems we seem to have is that our front men are having to fetch the ball, which may be part of the reason why they are not in the box. The other thing is that most of our balls into the box have been awful, even a giraffe on stilts would struggle. Given how many tall players we have, we ought to be delivering better quality crosses and corners for them to attack.
