We gave him a DESERVED great reception and he really appreciated it. Some people need to give their heads a wobble.

Feel sorry for Bego - made the big move, got the gig really quick through injury to the regular only for Morinho and a team of Champions got to complete pot in the space of a few weeks.......wonder if in the quiet moment he regrets it.........nah me neither!!,

A fist pump would have sufficed. Jumping round like a deranged twat was out of order. 90th minute goal to keep his team in the cup... for another 30 minutes anyway, I think even Tim Henman would've shown some emotion in that situation. Begovic was great for us and nice to see him back at the Brit, he deserved a great reception, also nice to see he still can't save penalties. We have Butland now who looks an even better prospect than Begovic did, we've been blessed with some amazing keepers over the years.

Fair enough he got his round of applause, but he's an opposition player now, so no problem with him celebrating the goal.
But I'm under no illusion that he was always an ambitious player and probably saw us as a stepping stone anyway.
Didn't he refuse to for us once in this competition?

I thought the reception that he got was right. He returned the favour by picking up where he left off in terms of saving penalties.

We've got a lot more points over the past few seasons because of him. He saved us time and time again, and because he moves to a new club, we should appreciate what he did for us rather than labelling him with the "traitor" epithet. following the logic of some of the braindeads here, anyone who ever moves jobs is a traitor. If you follow that through, almost every player in our side is a traitor because he's left another club for us. So you gonna start booing Wolly, Ryan, Bojan, Shaqiri, Arnie, Butland, Walters and pretty well everyone else? Get a life. Say good luck to the man who was a brilliant keeper for us. We've got a superb and younger replacement, and the world moves on.

Guys a prick, the way he celebrated there goal, lost all respect for him. Especially after the reception we gave him when he came out Couldn't agree more. Strikers don't celebrate a goal if they score against an old club - the way Begovic celebrated infront of the Boothen was a disgrace We have loved and supported him all the time he was with us, he could have given the Stoke fans a bit of respect

I feel no emotion towards him, sheer ambivalence.
Butland would have displaced him either way.
Could happily go the entire rest of my life never seeing or hearing anything from Asmir Begovic again.

Guys a prick, the way he celebrated there goal, lost all respect for him. Especially after the reception we gave him when he came out I'm disappointed to read he celebrated us conceding the late equaliser. I rate the guy highly as a man from his appearances on TV but that is disappointing. We are truly blessed with Butland though, and provided he keeps his head (he has a reputation for being a bit arrogant) I think he will make a great goal keeper for years to come.

We gave him a DESERVED great reception and he really appreciated it. Some people need to give their heads a wobble. At first, I thought this..... but the more I thought about it, the more I thought it was a bit disrespectful really. Asmir knows the culture of this club, the fact that fans supported him through thick and thin. He approached the Boothen in the second half to one of the best receptions a former player will ever get. When their goal went in, he could have jumped up, arms up in the air, I don't think anyone would have minded that at all.... but it was if he revelled in dancing in front of the Boothen end. The same people who used to sing "here's to you Asmir Begovic..." and he's dancing for joy in front of them, laughing at them. Nobody expects Asmir to stand on parade, but at the same time, a little bit of respect for those who supported him for a large part of his career doesn't hurt.

A pro footballer should be committed to the team he is currently playing for, just as we expect our current players to be fully committed. It's just romantic nonesense to expect him to mourn when his team equalise in the 90 th minute of a cup competition. FFS it is a chance for him to be playing at Wembey, that's an ambition a player should always have. If they don't there is something very, very wrong. And I feel sorry for those who are now conveniently forgetting the incredible contributions Begovic made to our team over 5 years with consistently top class performances ans some memorable saves.

Guys a prick, the way he celebrated there goal, lost all respect for him. Especially after the reception we gave him when he came out Nonsense. He's a Chelsea player now. He should and does celebrate his team's goals. Can you imagine if we signed a player and he refused to celebrate when we scored against his old club? Begovic did a stunning job for us when he was here, he could have gone before he did but he stayed. Eventually he got an offer he could not and SHOULD not refuse, to further his career at a bigger club. And whatever anyone thinks of Chelsea, going there is a big step up from us. I have always wished him well there and I hope he is successful there...except when he plays against us obviously.

Begovic was a fantastic keeper for us but now we have a better all rounder, commanding, shot stopper, positioning and above all very confident. Would say most assured in form keeper of the season in the Premises so far ????
