Not at that point he wasn't. Yes he was. It's another dramatic statement to say we would have got relegated, just has dramatic as,if Shawcross got injured we would get relegated. That a lot of people use to say, Dramatic, but that is people today

Sorensen wasn't in Begovic's league by the time Bego replaced him. His powers had waned just as Begovic's hit their peak.
Begovic was one of about two players to consistently play well in the last Pulis season and he saved us loads of points in Hughes' first season as well. He was terrific in the two seasons before then as well.

Schadenfreude.
Some people seem to revel in others misfortune. I can't see why anyone would seem pleased if bego has disappointments.
He was a great pro for us, a perfect ambassador for the club and raised our profile through his TV work. I wish him every success (except when he plays against us)

The fact is though if he moved to win trophies which is the usual bullshit that players come out with then he would have been better staying at Stoke given our league position and still in the League Cup. Still a long way to go in the season, but still it makes me laugh The fact is Chelsea have won 11 major Trophies in the last 13 Years, We have won 1 in over 150 Years. Them's the facts. How quickly some people forget our two Autoglass wins!

If he didnt act like a baby then he would be much more highly regarded than he is. So yes Schadenfreude indeed

If he didnt act like a baby then he would be much more highly regarded than he is. So yes Schadenfreude indeed I have a lot of sympathy with your point of view. I forgave him his refusal (when Chelsea first came calling) because he was young. But his refusal at the back end of last season was ridiculous - especially as it was common knowledge that, if the U21's reached their tournament finals, Butland would be given a few games to get match fit at the end of the season. I think Bego was lucky -after his strop, if I had been Sparky, I wouldn't have brought him back to play the last game of the season against Liverpool. I appreciate all he did for us over the past few years but his behaviour when he was benched to give Butland a few games, meant I was happy to see him go last summer. Indeed I would have been gutted if he had stayed because we'd have ended up getting nothing for him next summer AND it would not have been good for Butland (or England) if he had gone out on another loan or had to share the keeping duties at Stoke with Bego this season. Let's be honest - we haven't missed Bego one bit. He's doubled his wages so I can't help a wry smile that his new team is struggling in league and cup and that Butland will be going to the Euros and Bego won't.

It's not dramatic at all. What is it then Good observation. Without Bego in TP's last season we would have gone down. The three other main players that season being your mate Shawcross and cameos from Jerome and Adam.

Ironic if we get to Europe next season via the league cup and Chelsea miss out

He's been Chelsea's starting keeper for most of the season, it can't be that catastrophic

You have to wonder whether Bayern would be able to mentally survive relegation.
