Sick of reading about the release clause, we could lose 2 of the best, most gifted players I've seen at Stoke and I'm bloody gutted. When they came to us their careers had pretty much stalled, Arnie was a renouned tool and Bojan couldn't get regular football for love nor money. Under Hughes both have flourished and are worshipped, in particular Bojan was snubbed by the older players at Barca and hurt by their treatment of him, at Stoke he's treated like a god. Before both players jump into contracts elsewhere, they would do well to consider their options - take a chance and maybe a step back to the bench or stay at Stoke and just enjoy playing PL football every week. I don't for a minute believe money is a factor for either of them, they've made their millions already, as for Champions League.....its shit compared to the Premier League. F'ing transfer window, proper unsettling period for players and supporters alike.

Who says either of them want to leave ? Release clauses? 1. There is no proof of release clauses 2. They may have them in their but would have been when they signed, they now may live the place and not want to leave 3. Just because players have them doesn't mean they are going anywhere Messi had a 175m release clause until his last renegotiation when it was removed at his request

I don't get what some people are struggling with on the release clause?
If there is one, and it is £10 million, if a club bids £10 million we have to accept so if a club bids £20 million more fool them, we can't refuse £10 million and its up to the player to decide!
Club "A" bids £10 million = accepted Club "B" bids £20 million = also accepted Club "C" bids £10 million = also accepted Player accepts contract from club "B" = they have just wasted £10 million
The long and short of it is, if it's true the club has made a HUGE cock up and the person responsible should lose their job immediately at that point
I hope the player(s) concerned don't see £££'s and think about their career, they are flying here, regular football on the biggest stage in world football and are adored!

I don't blame the players if it's anyones fault blame the following who for me are ruining football.
1) Agents (Only interested in lining there own pockets). 2) Greedy clubs ran by megalomaniacs who want to buy success by buying any half decent player even if they don't need them (see Bego, Delph, Inge, Remy) 3) The press who pander to agents and the bigger clubs to deliberately unsettle players.

Only position he can play is a false no 9. Only great teams can build their formation around a false no 9. We're not. He's a luxury we cannot afford. And anyway we only got him coz he was on a free like all the other players we got this year Proper lolz

He may or not have a buy out clause in his contract but if you think back to Luis Suarez Arsenal activated his and Liverpool still refused to sell! SuarezNo reason PC could not do likewise assuming the clause exists. the last paragraph made me laugh

Plus it is also very correct to say that playing a false no 9 doesn't work against the lesser teams who come to defend and to destroy the other team's rythm of play
Hence playing a false no 9 got us fantastic results such as the wins over city and manure but also was very ineffective in the losses against palace at home and WBA away
Now looking at those 4 games one WoULD have predicted 6 points from 2 wins and 2 losses which is exactly what we got but not from the games one would have thought; the end result however remains 6 points.

There wouldn't be one if there is a clause would there? We'd have to say yes to any 10mil bid. Not if 3 clubs wanted him, they would offer more than the other. I suspect they will all offer 10MM because that is the amount that triggers the release clause. Any bidding war then gets played out with the player and his agent. The club will have no say.

I'm just catching up with this. I can't see mention of the reported/rumoured 50% cut of of Bojan's transfer fee going to Barcelona. I hope both the £10m and 50% are well wide of the mark. Would be bloody typical if Stoke finally get their hands on some saleable assets and, if they are to leave, don't make a significant profit from them. How we laughed at the deal Aston Villa struck for Traore. If this is all true then I can understand where everyone is coming from. Stoke need to establish themselves as a home for these players, so perhaps had to allow Bojan an escape route of sorts, and hope that he entices others to follow (which he is doing). Hopefully we can make these deals without strings in the future.
