***** STOKE chief Peter Coates says Bojan will remain at the Britannia this month. The forward, 25, is understood to have a £10million release clause in his deal. But Potters chairman Coates insists nothing can be triggered. He claimed: “We’ll be keeping him, he won’t be going anywhere.” KENWYNE JONES is in talks with wealthy Abu Dhabi club Al Jazira about joining from Cardiff. The Trinidad and Tobago target man could be offered £50,000 a week. He is free to sort out terms with Jazira director of football Gianluca Nani, a former advisor to West Ham and Watford.

I mean, a few years ago, he had so much potential to be a very good player.... Couldn't be arsed. He has seemingly learnt nothing from earlier mistakes in life. He'll get one last payout before retiring at the ridiculously early age of 33 or something. Shit player, Shit individual. So so glad we fucked him off just at the right time.

Proper lolz Well I WAS in fact correct to say that the position he's best able to play is a false no 9, something which surely would not have occurred to your underdeveloped pigeon brain Before you start throwing insults I quoted the wrong post you fucking tit! But while we are on the subject the first part of your post is correct in terms of him being played as a false number 9 is his best position, but the rest I'm afraid is utter tripe!

But then why would he not say 'there is no release clause'? I suspect there is, something at least, goodness knows exactly what though. Perhaps instead he has had some reassurance from the player that he has no intention of going anywhere in January and the clause only applies with the blessing of the player? Who knows, I am making stuff up now!

I thought it was fairly common knowledge at the time of his signing that Barcelona retained the buy-back clause they had in his contract when he moved to Roma.
It's probably nothing more than this and some two-bit tabloid hack has either got the wrong end of the stick or is trying to stir the shit.
We had all this nonsense when Ryan first signed and Manchester United inserted some kind of clause in which they had first refusal if offers came in for him and we accepted a bid.

Here, for what it's worth,is my two penneth on the subject.
If any sort of clause was put in the contract when Bojan signed I can't understand how some Stokies are blaming the club.At the time of him signing he wasn't pulling up any trees and I suppose had stagnated a little, but his pedigree alone demanded that we go all out to get him.If we had failed to sign him because we refused to allow the clause to be inserted then this board would have been in meltdown.Bojan and Barcelona held all the aces. We all suspect that many footballers and their agents are mercenary and chase the bigger pay packet but I honestly believe that this is not the case with Bojan. He seems extremely happy,is playing brilliantly, loved by all down The Brit and will no doubt remember his past loan experiences to realise what he has got down Stoke.
Even though he is not yet half way through his 5 year contract, when the window shuts it is a matter of urgency that the club improve his contract.

Always nice to hear it straight from the horses mouth, thank fuck for that It would be even nicer if people waited to react until it was straight from the horse's mouth. I appreciate that's not always been possible at times, but it was obvious Sparky would have something to say about it today and he was always going to call it as the tripe it is.

that's all that was needed from the club - 2 prominent figures in MH and Coates to put the story to bed.
it still wouldn't be a bad idea to get Bojan in the office and improve his contract (and put in any other stipulations as well)
if we are to be a 'stepping stone' club, the at least we can do is maximise what we can get for our best assets
and just for the record, i wouldn't want Bojan to go anywhere!

It was quite a plausible rumour to be fair. They love a release clause in Spain and one 10 times bigger than the transfer fee for Bojan seemed about right. A strange figure and detail to pluck from thin air too, just as the window opens - smelling like a leak from another club/agent. Thank fcuk it's false though.

Better players than Asmir Begovic and Steven N'zonzi have left clubs for absolutely nothing.
