They're shit too then. Rodgers is a massive fraud still though. Quite agree, I really don't rate the bloke at all. I don't rate this moneyball crap either though. It will only take you so far.

I agree and disagree re moneyball. For clubs like Porto its great. But that's in a league they're likely to win most years. But Liverpool aren't in that sort of a league and the moneyball theory doesn't tally with spending about people's values or way over the top in most cases for the players they have signed. They might make a profit on Firmino if he comes good, other than that they might as well have burnt their money.

Brendan & board have decided to let Brendan go. Brendan wishes to thank Brendan for his Sterling* work in taking LFC to the brink of success and Brendan is sure that it won't be long before another sleeping giant calls for Brendan to rescue them as he did with LFC.
Brendan went on to say that there are not many managers who would have achieved so much success with the small transfer budget Brendan worked with. Brendan spotted the talents of Suarez and Rahim even before he was appointed to Liverpool and it was probably his thoughts that got those players to LFC
Brendan wishes to thank the staff and players at LFC and hopes they will be reminded that if it was not for him they would now not be able to seek the high profile manager they seek now.
Brendan leaves LFC with an average squad, a £30m bank deficit and very little future at this moment in time. As a final gesture Brendan will leave a full set of his toe clippings to the LFC museum so that the fans can venerate him for years to come.
King Brendan is dead Long live King Brendan of Tyne & Wear!

He offered Beane a mindboggling amount of money, but Billy stayed in Oakland. Since then Henry has tried to copy the Moneyball strategy in everything he does. Hasn't worked to date. He needs to turn the page.

Awful manager who surrendered a 5 point lead with 3 games to go.... Who had some rotten luck which can happen to anyone. He was a few games away from taking Liverpool to their first Premier title. A few games away from being eternally worshipped on Merseyside and now he's been sacked after 8 games or so. Madness

You give someone 100m and then sack them 2/3 months later. Absolutely mind blowing stupidity. He should have been sacked at half time vs us at 5-0 down. He hasn't spent 100m though. This ridiculous transfer committee has spent it, of which Rodgers was a stakeholder with an opinion. Big difference. They also replaced his backroom staff Not a favourite of mine but transfers should be down to the manager for final say and just as Hughes brought his team with him,I would expect any manager to do the same. Doubt that the committee will be sacked, also the likes of big Sam will want control.

Not sure it will ever work the way Beane did it in Oakland, the planets definitely aligned for him that year. Not sure if there is enough correlation between American rounders and English football to make it work. I could be wrong. But Beane is the only person I've seen pull it off, and that was basically for one year.

I think Henry will give it up.

Porto and Lyon have done it in football. Sorry brother, Porto and Lyon are beyond my realm of expertise. Porto are the masters of it. Lyon were then just sold too many players and didn't get the same quality in but are now getting back on their feet.
