Who would want the job? Joke club, , management, supporters, transfer deals.etc I disagree with that. Liverpool is one of the seriously big prestigious jobs in European football.

Sorry brother, Porto and Lyon are beyond my realm of expertise. Porto are the masters of it. Lyon were then just sold too many players and didn't get the same quality in but are now getting back on their feet. Athletico Madrid do alright buying and selling strikers, Aguero, forlan, Falcao, Costa

Not is, were one of the most prestigious jobs in European football, Spurs are just as big as Liverpool are now and when their new stadium has been built they will probably be bigger. The dippers reign as a TOP 4 / BIG club is well and truly over.

It may be a prestigious club but they have wasted hundreds of millions on bang average players and they have no top quality players in their squad. The only player they have who would potentially get in at other top 4 clubs is Coutinho but the league is not short of high quality attacking midfielders at the moment. It's an incredibly tough job for whoever takes it, the fans expect the premier league or champions league but the league or FA cup are the only trophies they stand a realistic chance of winning.

It's also a hugely poisoned chalice...a fan base living mostly in the past with a massive amount of overexpectation and a lack of patience. An unreasonable and naive expectation that the manager must "understand and play the Liverpool way" (whatever that arrogance actually means) and a swarming viper pit of former players and club employees who infest the media and who have managed to instigate multiple campaigns to have three managers fired in the last decade. There must be easier ways to build a reputation in the game...

If they make a shit appointment now then we have half a chance of finishing ABOVE Liverpool in the league this season.
For that reason I dont want to see Klopp appointed. I think he could do well and that just makes our life harder in the end.
Bring back Dalglish I say, surely it must be his turn again by now?

They are a long way from it now so it;s up to the next manager to build to it. It isn't as impossible as some make out.

Too much too young for Rogers. Managers need to learn their trade at lower clubs before joining a big team. Exactly what LMH has done in his managerial career journey that brought him to Stoke.

They are a long way from it now so it;s up to the next manager to build to it. It isn't as impossible as some make out. I agree all jobs are hard but undertaking the labours of Hercules in an odds against attempt to become a god amongst Scousers is probably setting one self up for a fall. ;D That said I completely agree it'd be worth it to Klopp (or someone else) if they achieve it - the big if being that Klopp or whoever achieving it without almost unprecedented expenditure. The Fenway Sports Group do have a bit of cash admittedly but Van Gaal at Man Utd had a "similar job" (in very inverted commas) was considered a "best of breed" choice to lead them back to glory and has spent £260M without getting close. Could we consider Liverpool to be in better shape than a Man Utd post Moyes? Would FSG sanction another £250M of expenditure? Are many of their current squad worth much (relative to their purchase values) in a clear out? Personally if I was Klopp - I'd let the job slide, I think the next Liverpool manager is likely to have a "Moyes" type reign which will likely start promisingly as most new appointments do, involve the purchase of one maybe two highly anticipated (and very expensive) white horses before a descent into mid table mediocrity as the team becomes disjointed by expensive square pegs in round holes and based around individuals rather than a team working together. The new manager will come under pressure, get sacked before xmas 2016 and a hopefully stoke will stick six past them at home again! ;D The Scousers will continue through all this to moan about the past in a whiny voice about how far they have fallen. Brendan isn't a complete idiot, unlike a good portion of Liverpool fans seem to believe, culling him from the management only cures one aspect of the disease - I think the rot at Liverpool goes a lot deeper and they won't fix that with £250M of expenditure (or as Man Utd are discovering ~£500M! (~combining Moyes and LVG purchases).

i liked his post-match interview yesterday "It was a re-building process 3 years ago and still is for me or whoever else may be here"
how long and how much money does it take to re-build exactly Brendan????? 3 years ago you said it would take 3 years, now that 3 years has passed, you've spent 300 gazillion pounds to turn your side into any other mid-table team and you still need money and time to re-build??? sounds a bit like the infamous 5 year plan to me.......
the bloody Pyramids could have been re-built in half the time with the amount of money he's pissed up the wall

As the second biggest club in England and one of the biggest in the world, this is a prime job for someone. A manager that brings the title back to Anfield would be revered for a long long time.
