Shilton Marsh Bloor Smith Pejic Mahoney Hudson Salmons Hurst Greenhoff Conroy That should do it. Not sure about Hurst - I'm sure there was a better alternative around that time ?

I would drop Arnautovic and Van Ginkel and they wouldn't make the subs bench either . Walters also wouldn't play because of his stroppy attitude over his contract . In my opinion it's simply a case of sign it or fuck off . We have better than you . I would bring in Ireland and Geoff Cameron as a straight swap for Van GInkel . Cameron would relish this role . Two of them a straight swap for MVG ?.... he's either some player or you're missing a comma

Butland Johnson-Cameron-Muniesa-Wilson Whelan Van Ginkel Adam Shaqiri-Afellay Diouf I'd switch Wilson and Muni, but otherwise I agree. Me too. Need Whelan to cover shaq and glenn - otherwise we are vulnerable down that side.

Given Not Bardsley Not Wolly Not Wilson Pieters Not Sidwell Adam Walters Bojan Afellay Joselu Well I'm glad its Sparky in the dugout and not you, what kind of a team is that? Last night showed that Bojan is not yet ready, some nice touches but way too many wayward passes due to rustiness

I just hope that Shaqiri isn't getting slated on here come Saturday evening
Players joining a new club, especially in a different country need time and patience from the fans
What's more there are 4 or 5 being introduced at the same time
Unrealistic expectations are the last thing the group need right now, we need to get the 12th man behind all of them!

I'd be very surprised if Rip van Ginkel didn't start

I'd play Cameron and Wilson at centre half to deal with all the long balls coming into the box ;-)

I don't think anyone furthered their cause last night and those that were left behind will start. I don't think Sparky will make the wholesale changes some on here are wanting. So:
Butland
Johnson Cameron Muniesa Pieters
Whelan Van Ginkel Shaqiri Adam Affelay
Diouf
I would play Walters right up top and rest Diouf completely. That won't happen. I wouldn't have Wollsheid or Bardsley anywhere near the first team. That would leave my bench as:
Given Wilson Sidwell Ireland Joselu Walters Arnie
Very light on defenders!

Shaqiri ireland walters If we work as hard as we did last night with this shite patient posession game we'll lose. Pulis will press us and we're shit keeping the ball under pressure. Going have to edit my predictions after last nights no show. Someone needs to tell these players to show some fucking urgency to get the ball back and learn how to keep posession when it matters like at the end of halves instead of pointless passing in their own half when its 0-0. Utter dog shit. It was a nice touch from you to critique your own post at the end.

What good teams do is go flying at teams with urgency until they get that goal or 2, that's when they start playing the slow posseion based football as they can afford to. We do the opposite. It seems the only time we can get urgency is when we go a goal behind or we're under pressure. I don't care how Pulis will set up. We should be beating these. Not one of these would get in our starting eleven. Their shit. Pulis has done good things for this club but i have many vivid memory'sof us getting smashed on the road and he sets up with west brom just the same as he did with us.

Need a win in this one then I think we can say it's a decent start. We don't want to be pissing about on 2 or 3 points going in to September

I think we will need to have both our wide men on form and stretch them and play at a higher tempo than we have so far , no doubt they will be organised with plenty of men behind the ball and look to break on us . I doubt we can play through them without Bojan so a lot wil depend on Arnie and Shaq playing well

Pulis will play for a 0-0 as usual in away games and we'll have all the ball but unlike last night we have to play with tempo if we are to unlock their defence.Otherwise i can see them playing for a free kick or a corner to try and nick a goal and for that reason I'd play Crouch and Wilson on Saturday.

Ideally we'll come roaring out of the traps because generally if you score first against a Pulis side at home you've got a pretty bloody good chance of winning.

Hope we give Tone a standing ovation when he comes out of the tunnel. Think we will win comfortably Saturday. Early goal and late goal.

After playing 90 minutes last night there is no chance of Ireland starting Saturday Which I find absolutely baffling. After his Spurs performance he must feel let down.

Which I find absolutely baffling. After his Spurs performance he must feel let down. When did themistocles start picking the Stoke City team? Opinion, just like you'll have your own opinion on weather you think individual players will start or not. Having played 120 minutes last night it's highly unlikely hell start against WBA.
