It's pretty clear what's happened here. Stoke have put they're money where they're mouth is, offered £12 to Inter, way more than the likes of Schalke and Dortmund have offered. Along comes Everton with a loan bid, Creating fits of laughter in the Inter board room, whilst at the same time insulting the player concerned, I mean, why on earth should Xherdan Shaqiri have to prove himself to the likes of Everton? This ridiculous proposition has simply only served to push the player into Mark Hughes grateful arms and highlight the latest example of just how pathetic this Football Club really is! "

Shaqiri Bojan Arnautovic Diouf"Fair play, that is one impressive front 4 for a mid-table club. Could easily challenge the Europa League contenders next season if it goes to plan." Just my thinking too.

I have to say, there were a lot of level-headed comments on the MUFC board -- a far cry from the meltdowns displayed on twitter by Arse and Spurs fans.

From United's board...
"Stoke have been consistently spending large amounts of money for the last few seasons so it's not as strange a transfer as it first seems"
Do they know something that I've missed???

I noticed that, too. In general (after browsing these fora and watching twitter a bit today) there seem to be four flavors of reactions 1) Good signing for Stoke. They have assembled a decent squad. 2) My how far has Shaqiri fallen that he has to go Stoke 3) Surely another club would have been in for him 4) Stoke have been spending loads of money the last few years and are going to go the way of Leeds/Pompey/etc. The last one seems to be the most uninformed.

I love Sunderland's are we the only ones who comply with ffp rules.
Least one poster, kindly pointed out we sold Bego and N'Zonzi, plus we already had Butland.

Would be a massive coup for Stoke and with the likes of Bojan, N'Zonzi and Shawcross they are building quite a decent side"

I like "Stoke have been consistently spending large amounts of money for the last few seasons so it's not as strange a transfer as it first seems." Have we? I think he means before the windows where NO money was spent. There was a period where we did spend a fair amount, Tuncay, Crouch, Huth etc etc. I don't think the Sunderland reaction was too bad actually. They clearly view our model of how to run a club as the way they want theirs run, but for them, the chairman is happy everytime they stay up. We're very lucky to have Peter Coates. Hard to believe just 20 years ago, was the beginning of the end of his first tenure at the club.

in my humble Hughes has done good business bringing in good additions to compliment the style he wants to play while retaining some of the steely resolve which has served you well since you entered the Premier League and most people expected you to be gone after 1 season instead of becoming an established club in mid table/top 10

Hilarious that they are all crying about FFP on the Sunderland board, we've spent next to fuck all (net) since Sparky arrived. How many players have they bought in the past 5 years? They seem to buy about 10 every window, mind you, most of them are crap.

Everton - 'Joining Stoke ahead of Everton is like wanting to make love to Nora Batty rather than Carol Vorderman' I love it, made my day. Come here Nora! Everton had a chunk of Talk Sport airtime dedicated to them last night. The basis of it was - how/what do they change, to arrest their decline? The need to forget their history, and think about why anyone would want to go THERE right now?
