Quality quote that, quite accurate too Not taking the piss now i dont mind sunderland had a good mackem mate when i did my basic training in the army, however it doesnt half feel good seeing some of your lots posts after darren bent signed for you instead of us saying why would he want play for stoke. I'm not surprised, I'd have been the same had roles been reversed mackems have realised how shit they are and in a relegation battle We didn't need this piece of news to realise that, we've had that opinion of ourselves for a while!

Its fucking great reading those threads to be fair. Anything on onevalefan I wonder?
To be honest if it was Southampton or Swansea signing Shaqiri I would be well jealous.
We need to treasure these moments!
And get Sparky signed up for the next 10 years

Everyone is acting like we've signed him. I haven't seen him holding up the stripes yet.

I've noticed a lot of people who have posted negative stuff about Stoke no nothing about football or Stoke! Some of the prejudice and ignorance on there is quite startling, from Manure fans who think we still have Nzonzi, to Everton and Blunderland fans who just won't accept that our club has been in steady ascendancy while theirs have been going in the opposite direction for the last five years or more. Sunderland will not see a top half finish for the next five years with their squad or lack of strategic direction; Advocaat's appointment is yet another example of their short-termism and crisis management. Everton lack the clout and ambition; much as I respect Kenwright, he really needs to move on because I suspect that the game has outgrown what he wants to do with his boyhood club. But I suspect that Everton have the potential, like Villa, to be the next 'sleeping giant' for a mega-rich foreign owner to buy, whereas we never will be.

Stoke have been consistently spending large amounts of money for the last few seasons so it's not as strange a transfer as it first seems.
Some people just don't have a scooby.

Everton - 'Joining Stoke ahead of Everton is like wanting to make love to Nora Batty rather than Carol Vorderman' I love it, made my day. Come here Nora! Everton had a chunk of Talk Sport airtime dedicated to them last night. The basis of it was - how/what do they change, to arrest their decline? The need to forget their history, and think about why anyone would want to go THERE right now? This is ridiculously accurate. They had a spell under Moyes for nearly a decade where they could bank on doing well and it seems to have made a lot of them think that is their natural level. They're going to have a humbling close to that of the Geordies if they're not careful.

Swansea, Southampton and belatedly us have a clear plan in place, both Scouse clubs, Villa, the Geordies etc seem to change their plan every season. I'm pretty sure ours has been to save money until a real quality player becomes available for 3 years now and it's finally paid off. (I hope!)

He will score but probably not enough and at that sort of money...oh dear

He will score but probably not enough and at that sort of money...oh dear Exactly. Hughes has created real depth to the squad; our bench alone will look quality, never mind the starting eleven. You get the feeling that Everton are a couple of injuries away from serious trouble. If they lose Stones to Chelsea just before the end of the window, or Lukaku to injury, they will struggle. Jagielka is getting no younger, and is at the age when little niggles last longer Evertonians have every right to be frustrated.

"Obviously opinions are like arseholes, but he really isn't. In my eyes he is a hyped headless chicken with very little to no end product. He does one very neat technical piece of skill now and then, but other then that he contributes dick. It's a reason to why big clubs didn't want him. He had some talent and they hoped it would develop, but it didn't. Now they move him on to Stoke who probably think they've signed Ronaldo's cousin. Anyone creaming themselves over this player hasn't seen him play football. They probably saw a foreign name, big fee and a piece of technical skill at the corner flag. I'll go as far as claim this will be one of the biggest flops of the season." Read more: www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/shaqiri-to-stoke.1116298/page-4#ixzz3iXklRr8uHahaha No jealousy at all their!

See, I always think going to somewhere where they talk an ounce of sense is daft. You're bound to hear stuff that's actually reasoned and perhaps even objective.
Naturally the best place to go is the home of delusion... Arsenal. Yes, these are the people who routinely say Laurent Koscielny is the best centre back in the world and even claimed Flamini is better than Schweinsteiger (if only I was joking), oh and that Jose knows Cech is the best keeper in the world but let him go because Cortois is younger. Heading over to their forum is far more fun, some of my favourites so far:
- He's just a shit Ox. - Ox is 2 years younger and a player on the rise. Shaqiri is on the way down. - Show pony. - Hughes is trying to turn Stoke into Swansea. - If he was better than Ox, he wouldn't be going to Stoke.
Pure comedy from the bandits once again.

Assuming Crouch isn't in the lineup, the rest of our starting 11 put together cost less than Shaqiri.

You really do have to laugh. "It's the reason big clubs don't want him"..........He's 23 years of age, moved to Bayern when he was 19 and was at Inter last season (obviously both tiny little clubs). "Anyone creaming themselves over this player hasn't seen him play football".........He was Switzerland's star player in the last World Cup and scored a hat trick at the finals. Switzerland have been well above England in the World rankings in recent years and he's been their 'star'. Of course he's had problems of late and that has clearly put off some potential suitors but Shalke wanted him (one of Europe's best supported clubs) and both Everton and Newcastle wanted him (both sizeable clubs). Sunderland, on the other hand, can only dream..... Idiot.

Extract from the Toffees MB:
"Phil Head 9 Posted 09/08/2015 at 21:01:29
It's pretty clear what's happened here. Stoke have put they're money where they're mouth is, offered £12 to Inter, way more than the likes of Schalke and Dortmund have offered. Along comes Everton with a loan bid, Creating fits of laughter in the Inter board room, whilst at the same time insulting the player concerned, I mean, why on earth should Xherdan Shaqiri have to prove himself to the likes of Everton? This ridiculous proposition has simply only served to push the player into Mark Hughes grateful arms and highlight the latest example of just how pathetic this Football Club really is! "
To be fair, some Everton fan could log on to the Oatcake and copy everything that BenjaminBiscuit posts
