I think Diouf is a superb player. Apart from scoring those irrelevant goals eh?

He was out on his feet at the end of the game yesterday and you cannot ask much more than that from any player.

They only showers two of his sitters on motd, IMO they were quite kind to him in not showing the other two he missed. Credit where it's due he worked his socks off yesterday but he fluffed 4 chances yesterday. I suppose the cliche is that he's getting in the right positions, but he nearly cost us the game yesterday. Sorry but just how did he nearly cost us the game? It was his goal that saved it!

We will stay with one recognised striker who operates across the entire width of the frontline. The real variations will be in who are the attacking midfielders and which of those combinations work best. There will be plenty of rotation depending on the opposition. However they will all have a role to play.

As I said NEARLY cost us the game. Not did cost us. As it stood his missed chances were our downfall yesterday

Diouf works his arse off but he's not a natural finisher. Charlie Austin would score a bloody hatful for us.

Diouf works his arse off but he's not a natural finisher. Charlie Austin would score a bloody hatful for us. But would he close down like Diouf and create errors in their defence and space for our midfield especially Bojan when the opposition Drop 10-15 yards because of his pace? This is the thing that annoys me most about The Diouf hating on the board. Yes I get he has been bought to score goals (as been stated above he has the best goals to game ratio since Thorne) but he bring SO much more to the team then that. It's comical people see through that because he misses some chances 'Charlie Austin would have scored and any other striker in the league' but would they have mad the run from the right to score his goal yesterday? No. Would they have put in even half the shift Diouf did? Possibly not. At Liverpool he could have had 4 on a different day from PASSBACKS because he harried the CB and his pace almost enabled him to nick the ball. And for the record he frustrated the hell out of me yesterday and I would have liked him to score both headers he missed but that's live, he isn't costa/agero or benzema. As posted in the Manu thread Friday, it could be worse we could have Agbonglahor.

It seems you can't have a genuine debate on this board without fans think you 'hate' a player. Very sad really.

It's the fact that if a player has a bad game that's fine and yeah discuss it but some of the stuff posted about Diouf last season and already this goes beyond the pale

Diouf works his arse off but he's not a natural finisher. Charlie Austin would score a bloody hatful for us. Then there would be posters slagging Austin off for being bone idle and not giving a shit.

A genuine question for the morons slagging him off and making comments like "i wouldn't have him in a lads and dads team" Who would you suggest we go for? Because we sure as hell can't afford a 15 goal a season striker!

I did call of Austin right at the start but too early to call on Joselu, but no offence, I trust MH judgement over mine and yours

I really don't think we could afford him! Mame is a real hard worker, shows passion and also showed if you play him in the right position can and will score goals. Some of the comments on here are just pathetic and sum up some of our so called fans!

Nope because it just leads to the laughable "oh he's better than Rooney/Aguero" nonsense from one eyed Stoke fans who can't see past the end of their noses. Were you banned or on holiday btw?
