They only showers two of his sitters on motd, IMO they were quite kind to him in not showing the other two he missed. Credit where it's due he worked his socks off yesterday but he fluffed 4 chances yesterday. I suppose the cliche is that he's getting in the right positions, but he nearly cost us the game yesterday.

The guy's totally committed, scores vital goals and works like a Trojan. To say he nearly cost us the game is a joke, disrespectful and unbelievable. For Christ's sake, in the end, he contributed to us securing an excellent point.

As I said he got in the positions but yesterday his finishing was appalling

Got a feeling he's going to be one of those strikers that scores a glut of goals in 2 or 3 games then none for 3 or 4 Well, if he scored 3 in 3 and none in 4 - we'd have a 16 goal a season striker. I'll have some of that.

I think a number of replies are missing my point. Yes he was RW when he scored (or didn't score; it could of gone in anyway). Yes he missed lots of chances. The point is he, by fault or design, keeps losing his marker and gets himself into prime goal position. He's not just done it these last 2 matches, he did it repeatedly last season. I'm saying keep playing him and feeding him and he will get us loads of goals as well as missing a lot of chances. If he were to improve his finishing ability (head and foot) he could be a very top class striker, but I suspect he is too mature now to get any better.

Diouf's body language is that of a player desperate to do well for our club and himself.

He's very animated, I like him a lot. It's like watching a kid react at times, in a good way.
He just loves football.

Diouf's body language is that of a player desperate to do well for our club and himself. I agree and I find it hard to believe that some Stoke fans cannot see this. Is he the most talented footballer we have? No,not by a long way,but he works his bollocks off, gets himself into great goalscoring positions and as long as we keep putting him in he will get around 15 goals a season, which isn't to be sniffed at for a team like us.

Why is everyone chance Diouf gets referred to as "a sitter"? He missed one "sitter" today. He then missed two very good chances and scored. He also gave Spurs nightmares and was superb. The ref continually ignored fouls on him.
Incidentally every one if his missed "sitters" had to be saved.....

I cant help but like him but I think joselu is going to be great as well. We've got a squad containing some very good footballers at the moment, as mark Hughes himself alluded to post match.

If we can't have have a player that will score every chance that comes his way (which I doubt we will ever have). The next best thing is to have a striker that can get in the positions in the first place, miss some but also keeps his head up and gets goals eventually.

Great photo of him on the FRONT cover of the Sports Supplement in the Mail on Sunday today|!
Looking delighted after scoring our 2nd goal!
He converted one out of 3 very good chances (all 3 on target) , probably the most difficult one
He starts for me next week, Joselu waiting in the wings

He could well be because he's a big target but he's quick and able to stretch teams in the channel as well. Its great to have options. When everyone is fit and have gelled, we'll be a very good team.

I will go with option 2

He will be in double figures, our leading goal scorer and beat the most goals scored in the PL by a Stoke player this season.

It's easy to forget that this is only his second season for us, give him time and I think he could be good for 15 goals a season. I love his attitude.

He's averaging one in three in the league for us (12 in 36). That's better than:
Crouch (1 in 4) Walters (1 in 5.2) Beattie (1 in 3.8) Fuller (1 in 4.2) Sidibe (1 in 7) Kitson (1 in 11.3) Tuncay (1 in 8.8)
Or any other striker we've had since Thorne (1 in 2.4 albeit at a lower level).
His overt reactions to events in matches, often frustration, occasionally ecstasy, just go to show how much he cares about doing well for us, which for the most part he is. Yes he's not one of the best finishers in the league, or even in our squad, but having come in on a free and scored some vital and impressive goals, as well as always giving his all on the pitch, he deserves to have our support more united behind him.

His body language look ok when he was making an excellent tackle on the edge of his own box in the 90th minute.

Diouf missed sitters, meanwhile Mason & Kane were denied by great saves when they were less than 10 yards out. Please be Consistent. To me a sitter is not even hitting the target when you have a clear chance,- the only one of those yesterday was SJW's header- & that's being harsh.
