Calm down everyone.
This is a shit signing.
Pulis was a good manager, but Hughes is much better.
Comparing him to Woolscheid is daft for three reasons; Wooly is much better, he cost a lot less and he is only a back up.
Anyone who argues against these points is obviously a bit mad and there is no point arguing with them.

I'm pretty sure you are one of the "shit window" brigade. That in itself tells me that you are not happy with our signings, which makes your post hypocritical. If I'm wrong then i will hold my hands up but I don't think I am. You won't be needing to hold your hands up. Our favourite old hypocrite is having a bit of a meltdown at the success of our recruitment team and deserves our help and understanding. He will be back with something completely unrelated to throw back anytime soon I promise you. Don't worry about it. Remember his heart is broken. This thread still here? Congratulations on your moderation of the hatepuliscake. One rule for one, one for your obsessed, despicable, hypocritical, mates. Absolutely fucking shameless.

Pulis did a fantastic job for Stoke but he has gone now and therefore I have no interest in what he does. That's how it works players come and go as do managers once they have left Stoke they are nothing to do with me or my club.

"James is a good player who can play anywhere along the back line and I'm confident he will get better with age.” There's nothing wrong with this kind of post at all and I wouldn't accuse pwingy of being a Pulis hater because of it. It's funny, after all, we know this to be an unfortunate trait of our former manager. Having a laugh at this kind of thing, especially as it's taking place at one of our rivals, doesn't necessarily have to be 'Pulis hating' does it? The familiarity of the situation simply makes it humourous.

Congratulations on your moderation of the hatepuliscake. One rule for one, one for your obsessed, despicable, hypocritical, mates. Absolutely fucking shameless. Unfortunately I have to inform you that the decades long tradition of laughing at West Brom will continue despite your earnest wish that it now ceases on the basis that Tony Pulis is their manager. You are however welcome to continue your own personal crusade to attempt to dash down anything that can be in any way interpreted as disrespectful to Mr Pulis and even demand the blasphemers are burned at the stake for not falling down in a pool of their own jizz whenever his name is mentioned. That we will never stop as it is a comic highlight on this message board that is appreciated by many of our members. To ease your angst in this regard I have found you a like minded someone on Twitter you can play with. You will remember Stokelad? He is alive and well, rubbishing anything the new management do, having meltdowns about the way the club has improved dramatically and spending all his waking hours on WBA and Tone watch. He even writes blogs stressing how Pulis is responsible for everything good about Stoke and Hughes has done nothing. You will love it I promise you. So when you get tired of being laughed at here and frustrated by our reluctance to impose your Pulislaw you have a soul mate on Twitter there for you to enjoy. I like you so I want to help. Enjoy.

Am i the only person who doesn't think he's shit? He's solid and a good age. The Hull fans are GUTTED to be losing him and i saw a stat somewhere yesterday that he hasn't made a single error in 56 Premier League matches. Admittedly £8m is a bit steep but i would have certainly had him here for around £5m.

I think it's too much money but there are British players passing between CHAMPIONSHIP CLUBS well in excess of £10 Million. The price for British players is completely mental.

Now Brady to Norwich at 7?! He couldn't even hold his place in the hull team every week... What's going on? Bego and zonz or Brady and Chester...? I'd go for the prem quality duo tbh!

It never ceases to amaze me that ALL STOKE FANS don't fall into this catagory. Me too. But some seem obsessed with typing everything with a sneer, others with a snarl. Doz, I hope you've got the majority of Stoke supporters there. To paraphrase Jamo on the Wing, who got it bang on, Pulis was a brilliant Stoke City manager for that time, and Mark Hughes is proving to be a brilliant Stoke City manager for now.
The real genius is Peter Coates who has had the vision and balls to make the change to keep the club progressing.
I'm not sure Mark Hughes could have achieved the Pulis miracle of keeping us up in 2008/2009 with the rag tag bunch we came up with, and I don't think Tony Pulis would have ever delivered the kind of football that sees us go 3 up against Arsenal and hammer Spurs and Liverpool in consecutive games.
There are some Stoke supporters who are not prepared to acknowledge what Tony Pulis achieved here and give him the respect he deserves, which is a hell of a shame.

Anybody else really struggling with us only getting the same amount of money for Begovic and Nzonzi (one to the Champions and one to the Europa league winners), as James Chester and Robbie Brady?
Contract issues taken on board, I feel ill.

Middlesbrough are talking £10 Million plus for Rhodes (a decent striker) and Blackburn paid £9 Million for him in the first place. The fella (sorry shit name recollection) who left Leeds for Fulham cost £11 Million. These players aren't bad players but the money is crazy. Chester has made a good impression at Hull in the Premier League and was wanted by three Premier League clubs so, mental as it may be, £8 Million is less than it might have been. Iknow, I know.........It's mental.

Contract issues taken on board, I feel ill. Not so much with Begovic; being a goalkeeper seems to almost half a player's actual worth for some unknown reason. I was more annoyed to learn that Chelsea had sold Petr Cech for £10 million and signed Bego as his replacement for a £2 mil profit. Obviously Cech was a better player than Begovic in the past, but he's also 33 and into the twilight years of his career. Begovic should, in theory, be coming into his prime. As far as players leaving the Premier League to foreign shores go (superstars aside), N'Zonzi probably went for a fair amount considering his contract situation.

How about these couple of headlines.... Chester got himself in an almighty mess trying to clear an inswinging cross, and the right back ended up swinging his left leg at the ball before arrowing the ball into his own net. See how Hull’s James Chester scored one of the funniest Premier League own goals of the year below. AND STEVE BRUCE was left deflated for young Hull defender James Chester as his own-goal midway through the second-half secured Manchester United victory at the KC Stadium. Or maybe it was 56 games without an error, apart from a couple of costly own goals?
