Given and van Ginkel and I presume Glen Johnson will all arrive today.
Marko Arnautovic, Glenn Whelan, Marc Wilson, Jonathan Walters, Charlie Adam and Jack Butland will all be rested following internationals.
Anyone hazard a guess as to the line up. Haugard GeoffCam Ryan Muniessa Wilson Ireland Shenton Sidwell Youngster Crouch Joselu
We are a bit lightweight in Midfield for the 1st game, but I expect Everton to have the same problems with internationals only just back, almost certainly gonna have to play Shenton and one of the other youngsters, and although not in the starting line up the likes of Adam, SJW will prob be used later on.
Saturday looks a lot better with a full squad to pick from including all the new signings.

We're a bit limited on numbers for the first match, but it does mean we can almost name two different line-ups for the two games.
I'd assume it will be something like this on Wednesday:
Haugaard/Bachmann (45 mins each)
Bardsley Wollscheid Shawcross Muniesa
Cameron Sidwell Shenton
Ireland Odemwingie
Joselu
That would give the following a chance of a match on Saturday when they will be fresh:
Butland/Given (45 mins each)
Johnson Teixeira Shawcross Wilson
Whelan Adam Van Ginkel
Arnautovic Walters
Diouf/Crouch

Stoke have gone to win a trophy off the favourites Arsenal. It got to be our best players. No pieters or Bojan. All the lads should be fit enough to play for at least 45 mins.

I think there is a decent chance that Given will start the first game with Butland starting the second game. Although Given has only recently arrived he doesn't need to cover the miles during the match that an outfield player would - so, if he has shaken off jet lag, he could be fit by Wednesday. You have to hope that he kept himself fit during the summer.
I doubt we'll see van Ginkel or Johnson until Saturday though.

So I'd expect Haugaard to definitely play some part, if not the whole game

Wrexham fans thought he was the best keeper in the Conference last season when he was on loan there.

I have not read anything that says players will be rested for the first game, is this guessing or have i missed something ? The only player not in Singapore is Butland so all the rest are in the frame.

The only player not in Singapore is Butland so all the rest are in the frame. There was a report that the 3 new signings would be rested for the first match, but how much credibility that had I don't know. If true though, it would infer that the late returns from international duty would also be rested to start with. It would give MH a good excuse to look at other players first. Anyone seen confirmation that Crouchy is fully recovered from his hernia operation?

Still an open transfer window open. no point deciding yet We're playing em Wednesday morning Well we have 24 hours to square something away then To be honest i would field a weakend team, Last season we had a really bad injurie crisis we need to minimise injuries in games that do not matter. The likes of Bojan missing out on the rest of the season because he was injured against rochdale ( a team we should be beating without him)

It's live on TV , playing in a prestigious tournament we will play the strongest team possible, with 4 missing out, Butland, Shay, Ginkle and Johnson. Other than that I expect a fair side to be put out.
